Spider-Man 4 has been in discussion following the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Primarily, the concern was the storyline as the third installment of the trilogy ended on a glorious note. However, a report has spilled some beans about the potential character arc of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man which also followed Tobey Maguire’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

The first trilogy of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was “all about establishing his origin in the MCU,” said industry insider, Alex Perez in a Discord Q&A. In Homecoming, “Peter wanted to prove himself to be an Avenger alongside Tony but realized that being the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was better for him,” he added. Following the events of his appearances in MCU movies over the years pushed him to the stage where he struggles with his identity as Peter Parker as the revelation of it has had severe consequences for the ones close to him.

Now, the world, or in fact, the universe doesn’t recognize Peter Parker as Spider-Man. So, Doctor Strange’s spell on his may create a new opportunity to more with the character slightly detaching him from the continuation of previous movies in his franchise.

While the Spider-Man 4 storyline or character arc is in discussion, fans have proposed one hypothesis that the MCU might just adopt for the character. As Tobey Maguire wore a Black Symbiote suit in Spider-Man 3, it altered his character to a certain degree. Fans have proposed that a Symbiote suit would be fitting to the upcoming narrative.

Of course, Holland’s Spider-Man appeared briefly in the post-credit scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. In this regard, the crossover would make total sense to extend the Spider-Man universe. As of now, Spider-Man 4 is reportedly in development and the studio has not locked a release date.
