The Top Gun franchise star hailed his co-star Blunt in his celebration of the movie. “I want to take the opportunity to thank Emily Blunt once again for being such a great friend and brilliant actress. I love her performance in this film. Her dedication. Her humor. Her vulnerability and power. She brought it all.” There would not be much of a debate on the chemistry of the duo, Cruise and Blunt’s chemistry in the sci-fi movie was remarkable as hailed by fans and critics.

Edge of Tomorrow marked the first collaboration with acclaimed director Doug Liman who has The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and his most recent Road House to his credit. “This anniversary brings back incredible memories. My first collaboration with Doug Liman,” Cruise added in his X thread. The actor also celebrated working with Irish actor Brendan Gleeson who previously starred alongside Cruise in Mission: Impossible 2. “Rejoining the indomitable Brendan Gleeson. And my first time working alongside the great Bill Paxton. His performance and the character he created left an indelible mark on this film,” he added.

Christopher McQuarrie directed the last three movies in the Mission: Impossible franchise along with the upcoming Dead Reckoning Part 2 to his name. The director penned Cruise’s Edge of Tomorrow with screenwriters Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth. Cruse took a moment to celebrate McQuarrie for his brilliant writing.

Edge of Tomorrow is one of the fan-favorite alien invasion movies. Also, the action sci-fi has an astounding 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie claimed $370.5 million at the box office but considering the production budget of $178 million, it was a mediocre hit. Perhaps, that was the reason a sequel never happened. Still, fans are eagerly waiting for a sequel.
