In A Violent Nature Certified Fresh At Rotten Tomatoes
In A Violent Nature debuts Rotten Tomatoes with a stunning 94% score with most critics certifying the movie fresh. RogerEbert.Com’s Brian Tallerico wrote, “It is a gore-fest that is splendidly committed to the bit.”
“You have never seen a slasher like this before, and probably never will again. It’s a fascinating artistic experiment and genre fans should definitely give it a look. But it may also make you wish you were watching a traditional slasher,” io9.com critic Cheryl Eddy wrote.
San Jose Mercury News’ Randy Myers who is Rotten Tomatoes’ top critic, hailed the director, “Chris Rush’s well-shot but exceedingly gruesome gorefest mashes up all the slasher-flick tropes for a bloody genre salute.”

“In A Violent Nature is such a fun way to approach a slasher! Telling the tale from this POV was such a breath of fresh air. The film is equal parts humor and brutality, and I imagine some of the kills will be on quite a few year-end lists,” Sharai Bohannon from A Nightmare On Fierce Street Podcast wrote.
Kelly McClure from Salon.com and Rotten Tomatoes top critic said, “The grossest, most elaborate kill-scenes I’ve ever seen in my life all fit seamlessly, where in other films a similar hodgepodge could fall flat amidst the chaos. This feels classic and completely new all at once.”
The consensus of the movie from the critics has been mesmerizing. Certainly, Nash has provided almost every subtle ingredient of a slasher film into his version of the narrative.
In A Violent Nature will hit theaters on May 31.
