Zachary Levi is getting back on screen as the actor appeared in the lead of the trailer of Harold and the Purple Crayon. Adaptation of Crockett Johnson’s classic 1955 children’s book, the movie will see Levi’s character suddenly transform into the real world and the adventure follows.
Sony Dropped Harold and the Purple Crayon Trailer Starring Zachary Levi
Sony Pictures has dropped the trailer of upcoming Zachary Levi’s movie Harold and the Purple Crayon. Levi’s magical journey in the movie shows all the positive vibes spreading happiness. The live-action adaptation of Crockett Johnson’s 1995 book of the same name, the movie will mark the return of Levi to the big screen.
“Inside of his book, adventurous Harold can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. After he grows up and draws himself off the book’s pages and into the physical world, Harold finds he has a lot to learn about real life — and that his trusty purple crayon may set off more hilarious hijinks than he thought possible. When the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it will take all of Harold and his friends’ creativity to save both the real world and his own,” the synopsis reads.
Carlos Saldanha who has previously directed Rio, Ferdinand, and Ice Age 2, and the franchise’s third installment is helming the movie under the banners of Sony Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation, Columbia Pictures, Davis Entertainment, and Scholastic Corporation. Sony Pictures Releasing is distributing the fantasy adventure.

Harold and the Purple Crayon also stars Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, Alfred Molina, and Zooey Deschanel. David Guion and Michael Handelman wrote the movie with Jeremy Stein and Jenny Hinkey, with John Davis producing.
Harold and the Purple Crayon is slated for August 2, 2024 release.
