With the Agatha All Along ending, several dots of the show have been connected to Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany’s 2021 show WandaVision. Recently, WandaVision showrunner Jac Schaeffer revealed that one MCU hero Doctor Strange, who is in the Avengers almost made it into the post-credit scene but ultimately it was scrapped.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff had a huge role in Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which was released in 2022, about a year after the release of WandaVision. The head writer of the show, Jac Schaeffer recently had an interesting chat with Variety where she detailed a scrapped post-credit scene that would feature Strange or potentially setting up Cumberbatch’s 2022 movie. “Initially, Doctor Strange was going to appear in the tag for WandaVision,” Schaeffer said.
Explaining the scene, she continued, “It’s Wanda sitting on the porch of that cabin, and she’s rocking peacefully. And you know how Strange can do those circles around someone, and make them go somewhere? The circle starts around her, like she’s going to be teleported somewhere, and she stops it, so Strange has to show up in person.”
Schaeffer shared that she loved the idea of it, “I just loved that so much, that Wanda would be like, “No, I’m not going to go where you want to teleport me. You’re going to have to come to my door.” It was a good one, but another tag took its place.”
However, as we all know it, the scene was scrapped and was replaced by another scene.

Jac Schaeffer also commented on the highly circulated rumor of Mephisto’s appearance ahead of the season finale of WandaVision. The creator further shared that Mephisto was never a compelling character for her personally. “In my heart, no. I hope this doesn’t upset anyone, but Mephisto has never interested me,” Schaeffer told Variety.
While an early draft mentioned Mephisto as a possible antagonist, she admit that she didn’t consider it a serious option. “But we have an early, early document that included him in a potential antagonist, but I don’t remember ever really taking that seriously. And also, within the MCU, logistically, it wasn’t right for our show. I will say, it was not my intention to toy with anyone with the Mephisto stuff.”
The creator acknowledged she had underestimated the level of fan enthusiasm for the character, “I think I just continue to underestimate the appetite for Mephisto among the fan base.”
So far, there is no plan in the MCU about Mephisto’s debut in the superhero brand, many in the near future.
