Lady Gaga is set to appear on the big screen as Harley Quinn in the upcoming DC Elsewhere movie Joker: Folie à Deux starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. While their versions of the iconic DC villainous characters are quite different, the duo is making a tremendous buzz as the mad couple embraces the highly anticipated chaos that would create mayhem in Gotham City. In a recent interview, Gaga revealed what would her version of Harley Quinn do to Batman.

In comics, Harley Quinn’s relationship with Batman is fascinating and it would not be unfair to say that it has mostly been bittersweet in the different iterations of the characters. While Joker, Quinn, and Batman have been seen as incomplete without each other, Lady Gaga recently spoke with Jake Hamilton revealing what her character would do to Batman.

“She’d probably light him on fire,” Gaga said of Harley Quinn’s potential confrontation with Batman in the distant future. While the movie is in the astonishing buzz, with Joker returning in the Todd Phillips’ sequel to the 2019 Joker, the potential narrative of Batman growing in the universe of Joaquin Phoenix‘s Arthur Fleck is slim and almost to none. The second installment to the 2019 billion-dollar movie is again focused on Joker, now with a twisted romantic angle with Quinn. As for her character, the actor shared that it’s just the beginning of her character.

Also, if the highly anticipated sequel turns out to be a massive hit, it is not impossible for Batman to set foot in the universe of Arthur Fleck. In his world, Batman is seemingly still a kid and has a long way to go to suit up to save Gotham City from the villainous mayhem that Harley Quinn and Joker will create. Regardless, the potential confrontation of these characters would certainly give an edge to the standalone universe in DC created by Phillips centering on Joker.

Following the release of the first installment which came as a surprising blockbuster for Warner Brothers, Todd Phillips told Variety that he does not discard the idea of Batman appearing in Arthur Fleck’s Gotham. “It’s a beautiful Gotham. What I would like to see someone tackle is what Batman looks like from that Gotham,” Phillips told Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2020.

“I’m not saying I’m going to do that. What was interesting to me about the inclusion of Batman in our movie was, ‘What kind of Batman does that Gotham make?’ That’s all I meant by that,” he added.

While it is still a long way even after the soon-to-be-released sequel, Batman’s jumping into crime-infested Arthur Fleck’s Gotham would be a treat for fans to behold as Gotham’s Caped Crusader has always been the archnemesis of Joker and his partner in crime Harley Quinn.

Joker: Folie à Deux will be released only in cinemas on October 4.
