J. Perry’s The Killer’s Game has generated tremendous hype following the release of the trailer of the movie. Starring Dave Bautista in the lead, the action comedy promised huge action treat with gun-blazing complemented with chuckle-generating humor. During his promotional tour of the movie, the wrestler-turned-actor shared that he will never go back to WWE coming out of retirement to have a match. He has closed that chapter and is now focused on his career as an actor making his name ironclad with roles across genres.
Dave Bautista Will Never Go Back To WWE To Wrestle Again
In the world of wrestling, particularly in WWE, retirement is not always a thing to leave the arena behind. Many WWE superstars have come out of retirement including Edge (currently signed in AEW under his real name Adam Copeland). However, Dave Bautista who has claimed astonishing stardom in WWE, will not go back to the wrestle again. In his chat with Jake’s Takes for his latest movie with Sofia Boutella, the actor gave a candid explanation of why he refuses to go back to wrestling.
“I mean to me, you know, the honorable way to go out is, um, to go out on your back and you go out and you leave somebody who’s going to,” the 55-year-old said. “I think that’s the honorable way to go,” he explained.
“I think, you know, the thing is with the wrestling a lot of times, most times 99.9% of times you don’t get to choose the way you go out and I did. I got to choose the way I went out which is a special thing. It was a dream for me, it was storybook ending. So, that’s it, that’s why I’m very proud of the way I went out and that’s why I refuse to go back.”
Bautista made his in-ring debut in 2002 in an episode of SmackDown and appeared in a tag team match with D-Von against Faarooq and Randy Orton. He began his WWE journey with the Deacon Batista gimmick and joined Reverend D-Von. In 2019, he announced his retirement from WWE.
Dave Bautista Still Miss The Crowd Of WWE
While his return to WWE for a match is not happening, fans can see him for a future Hall of Fame event and the former wrestler has rightfully earned his that position. He is open to receiving the glorious honor of WWE superstars but he will stick to his legacy without giving another match. The former WWE champion further stated that he wants to keep his image intact. “Because you know, wrestling retirement isn’t really retirement,” He said.
“So people don’t take you seriously when you say you’re retired. So, I just, that’s why I would never, I just, I couldn’t tarnish that man. I just got to go out on my own terms with you know, where I wanted, when I wanted with the guy I wanted to go out with and I just love it every time I think about it it makes me feel happy. it makes me feel fulfilled. I’m very proud of my career, I’m proud of what I did. I accomplished and the way I went out and that’s, that’s it.”

However, it is not that Bautista never had a calling, his immaculate fandom often wanted the Beast (his WWE gimmick) in the ring again and he admitted missing the chanting and cheering of the crowd.
“I, just for me, even though I miss it, I miss it every day, miss it every time I hear my music, I miss it every time. I see a clip on Instagram with a crowd going nuts. I want to be there and I want that adrenaline rush again. It’s like a a drug that you just want, it’s an addiction that I want but I just, I will never tarnish the way I got to go out because I got to go out on my own terms.”
Bautista is now one of the highly recognized global stars who made his career in Hollywood with his ever-evolving prowess as an actor. He has appeared in movies across genres and worked with several prominent directors.
