Kirsten Dunst’s new movie Civil War is receiving good response from audiences and it is expected to run solid at the box office as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Alex Garland movie seems to have the biggest opening weekend in A24’s history and it is expected to make $18 million to $24 million opening frame. Meanwhile, Kirsten Dunst who plays a journalist traveling across the dystopian future United States during the Second American Civil War in her recent interview made one huge comment on Spider-Man 4 movie.

Yes, you have heard it right. When everyone is counting on Tobey Maguires’s Spider-Man 4, actress Kirsten Dunst who appeared in all three Spider-Man films playing Peter Parker’s primary love interest Mary Jane Watson thinks otherwise.

She believes, at this moment, the trilogy should be left alone instead of making another film.

Dunst sat with IndieWire ahead of the Civil War release and on being asked her reaction to the rumors regarding Spider-Man 4, she said that she does not know anything.

“Depends. It would depend. I don’t know. Honestly, do we need it?” she said.

“It was so long ago. I just don’t know how they would, what the story would be. I don’t know. It seems like … I don’t know! It would really depend on the script, and also, I don’t know, you’re really putting yourself out there in a way that … let’s maybe leave things when they were good. You know what I mean?” she further added.

A few days back, original Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi addressed a rumor that he would be directing the movie. But in an interview with CBR during WonderCon, Raimi mentioned that though he loves all the latest Spider-Man movies, he is not actually working on a fourth Spider-Man film.

The Oscar-nominated actor will always be praised for her role of MJ (aka Mary Jane) in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man saga. But then, Dunst, who is a mother of two children took a two-year break from acting after The Power of Dog to take care of her kids. She is back to work now.

When Marie Claire interviewed her and asked whether she would be returning to the superhero genre again, she gave an honest response.

“Yes, because you get paid a lot of money, and I have two children, and I support my mother.”

This reply came at such a time when the rumors of Spider-Man 4 were floating around.

Earlier, the Marie Antoinette actress stated that her youngest son, James loves watching Spider-Man, but does not care about her. In a conversation with Deadline, the actress added that she would have liked to play the character in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but she was not asked for it.

Kirsten Dunst’s three Spider-Man movies are now streaming with a Disney+
