13 Reasons Why, the Netflix teen drama became a topic of discussion following its remarkable success. But, it was not only the drama that was praised, but actor Dylan Minnette as well. He rose to prominence for his role there. But, quite a long time passed since we saw him acting. The actor cites an honest reason behind that.

American actor Dylan Minnette, who gained fame with his part in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, recently revealed why he quit acting. The actor who started acting when he was 8 years old said that while he will think of returning to acting sometime in the near future, for now acting to him felt like a job.
Speaking on The Zach Sang Show with his band, Wallows, the 27-year-old got candid about his decision and love for music.
Fans started to find one solid reason why the 13 Reasons Why actor gave a pause to an acting career. Answering to that query, Minnette went on to explain, “I was fortunate to find success in [acting].”
He said that when he was filming the Netflix teen drama, it was a peak time for him and he realized that he was giving whatever he had in him in terms of acting. He loved what he was doing and he was in a very “fortunate position.” But even after that, he started to feel like a job.
Minnette admitted he is “starting to have more inspiration” for acting and “something to give artistically and creatively in other fields” other than music.
For now, he is going to give his 100 percent into music which he considers a real band and they all take that very seriously.
“The only way that’s gonna happen is if I put my 100 percent time and energy into it and take it very seriously and show the world that we all take this very seriously. This is a real band, we’re going to do real band things,” he added.
Dylan has been featured in Two and a Half Men, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy and Prison Break. He last appeared in 2022’s Scream and The Dropout.
Will Dylan Minnette Be Returning To Acting?

Despite what he feels currently about acting in general, he has not ruled out making a comeback to acting. But, he will return when he feels that he and their musical band mutually want to take a break after fulfilling their duty.
“I do feel like I have something to give, and that’s probably acting… I feel like I’m starting to feel inspiration for that again,” he noted.
“At some point, when we’ve fulfilled our Wallows duties and we’re all ready to take a break as a band, or just take a second, that’s when I’ll have the perfect inspiration to do something,” he further added.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the actor said that he has a great connection to his role in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why adding that his life could not escape the character, such was the attachment.
