George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is filled with immaculate action sequences. Undoubtedly, the action sequences are the heart of the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy as the title character, the younger version of Furiosa, previously played by Charlize Theron in the sequel that was released in 2015, and of course, Chris Hemsworth who played Dr. Dementus in the latest movie. Taylor-Joy has recently revealed one cool fact about the movie that she had learned from the director of the movie, George Miller.
Anya Taylor-Joy Shared An Interesting Fact About Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
In their promotional tour of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth had a chat with Access Hollywood‘s Scott Evans, and among things, the duo took a moment to acknowledge the hard work of stunt persons who make an action movie come alive on screen. Amid the discussion, The Queen’s Gambit star revealed that George Miller once shared an interesting titbit about the movie.
“Fun fact though that I really love, so there’s this um kind of Infamous clip from the first Mad Max movie where uh an incredible stunt man Guy Norris like I think he broke his femur or something he kind of like went out flying and like flipped around that man was our second unit director on Furiosa,” Taylor-Joy said revealing the detail of the stunt performer. “And his son worked on the production so that was pretty cool I remember George showing me that clip and I was like…” she added.
SUGGESTED: Why ‘Mad Max’ Franchise Has Little Room For Dialogues?
It has been close to 45 years since the first Mad Max movie starring Mel Gibson and the stunt performer is still in the production process with a different role. He is “still there still doing still doing it,” Taylor-Joy said.
Anya Taylor-Joy Explained The “Gruelling” Nature Of The Filming Of Furiosa
Again, it all comes down to stunts. No one needs a reminder that the Mad Max franchise is solely action-packed which required the extensive works of stunt doubles. The very nature of filming the movie, as Taylor-Joy stated was grueling. “I think honestly the thing that I found most potentially grueling was just because of the nature of how we were shooting,” she told Scott Evans.
“Anytime I wasn’t on main unit I was on second unit and so there were times where I was like I literally cannot be three people or two people. And so, I was so grateful that my sister Haley Wright who’s an unbelievable stunt woman but also just one of my favorite people in the planet that she could be like, ‘okay I’m going to go and do this and you can go and do this that way…” Taylor-Joy said of her stunt woman in the film. “Oh God she’s amazing and she trained me for a year before I went out there everything she did I did,” she added.
The hard workers on set— the people behind the faces of the characters, deserve attention and recently several actors have been giving the necessary shout-out which includes Ryan Gosling who hailed the stunt man of his recent flick The Fall Guy.
