Netflix is adding another offbeat comedy to its 2026 slate with Little Brother, a chaotic family story led by John Cena and Eric André. The film throws two wildly different personalities into the same household and watches the fallout unfold. Built around awkward reunions, emotional baggage and absurd humour, the movie centres on a polished real-estate star whose carefully managed life begins to unravel after an unexpected visitor from his past arrives at his doorstep.
Directed by Matt Spicer, the Netflix comedy blends sharp character humour with escalating domestic disaster. Early footage has already sparked attention online thanks to Cena and André’s unpredictable chemistry. With a cast packed with comedy veterans and familiar television faces, Little Brother is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most talked-about comedy releases this summer.
What is Little Brother About?

At the centre of Little Brother is Rudd, a successful real-estate agent played by John Cena. He has built a polished life with strict routines, career success and a carefully controlled home environment. That balance disappears overnight when Marcus, portrayed by André, suddenly re-enters his world.
The reunion begins with confusion. Rudd rushes to a hospital, believing his older brother Josh has been injured, only to discover Marcus waiting there instead. Marcus turns out to be Rudd’s former “little brother” from a mentorship programme they joined during their high school years earlier. The pair lost contact long ago, yet Marcus now has nowhere to stay. Rudd’s wife, Deirdre, persuades him to let Marcus move in temporarily, opening the door to complete disorder.
The trailer leans heavily into the culture clash between the two men. Rudd values order and predictability, while Marcus thrives on chaos, impulsive behaviour and awkward honesty. Their personalities constantly collide, creating the film’s central tension. André previously described the movie as “What About Bob? meets Parasite,” hinting at both psychological discomfort and outrageous comedy.
Cena also explained the emotional core behind the story, saying: “We try so hard to create our own perfect environment, and in short, this movie is exactly what happens when you get your environment absolutely perfect, and then you encounter a s— storm.”

Michelle Monaghan stars as Deirdre, Rudd’s wife, who becomes caught between patience and frustration as the household spirals into madness. The supporting cast adds several well-known comedy and television performers, giving the film a strong ensemble dynamic.

Who Directs Netflix’s Little Brother?
Spicer directs the Netflix film after gaining acclaim for Ingrid Goes West, the Aubrey Plaza-led satire that explored internet obsession and social media culture. His work often mixes uncomfortable humour with emotionally messy characters, making him a natural fit for Little Brother.
The screenplay comes from filmmakers Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, the writing duo behind The D-Train. Production duties are handled by David Bernad for Middle Child Pictures alongside Ruben Fleischer, who previously directed films including Zombieland and Venom. Together, the creative team brings experience in both mainstream comedy and darker character-driven storytelling.
Is There a Trailer for Little Brother?
Yes. Netflix has already released the first trailer, and it wastes little time showing how badly things spiral once Marcus enters Rudd’s life. The footage jumps from uncomfortable family dinners to destructive household chaos, with André fully embracing the film’s manic energy.

The trailer also highlights the growing frustration between the brothers as Rudd struggles to maintain control over his personal and professional life. Much of the humour comes from Marcus refusing to follow social boundaries, often dragging Rudd into increasingly humiliating situations.
When Does Little Brother Come Out?

Little Brother premieres globally on Netflix on 26 June 2026. The release places it directly in the middle of the summer streaming season, where Netflix is expected to push the comedy heavily thanks to the film’s recognisable cast and broad audience appeal.
With Cena and André leading the chaos, Little Brother appears ready to deliver a loud, awkward and wildly unpredictable family comedy built around the idea that some relatives can completely upend your life the moment they walk back through the door.
