It definitely took so long but finally, the fan-favorite duo locked lips in the backdrop of a mayhem. Still, it was beautiful and worth celebrating. Played by Tomer Capone, the Frenchie actor was certainly excited about that. Appearing for a chat with Variety, Capone shared that the scene made him hyped up for the upcoming season even more.

“Wow, can it be more exciting than that? It’s like a Romeo-and-Juliet-type of thing,” Capone said. “It just makes me more curious, more hyped up, about what the amazing writers and Eric Kripke are cooking up for us for Season 5. It’s just one of those shows where every little detail can mess up the whole arc for a character,” he added.

The 39-year-old believes that “Frenchie and Kimiko will be all right” but still his kidnapping by the Gen V supes including Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann) has seemingly made a substantial difference to his character and of course, Kimiko.

Kimiko Finally Speaks

For the first time in The Boys, Kimiko finally got her voice back but in the worst circumstances. When they were attacked by the Gen V supes by order of Homelander (Anthony Starr), Frenchie was seen being mind-controlled by Cate which propelled Kimiko to scream out loud, “No.”

Karen Fukuhara who played Kimiko in the series, told Variety that it was really exciting reading the script. “Almost as exciting as when I read that I could heal in Season 1. I think it’s earned, as well. I think it has been building up to this moment. We see Kimiko at the top of Season 4 trying to tackle her speech therapy — and really, it’s not the physical speech therapy that she needs, it’s the emotional therapy that she needs in order to get there,” she told the outlet.

She went on to add, “And it’s such a visceral moment at the end of the season, when we see Frenchie getting taken away and there’s nothing else she can do but to scream out his name. And it’s gutteral,” Fukuhara said. “I loved where we took it this season, it was a really great surprise. And I feel like I always get that question from fans: When is she gonna speak? And just you wait!”

Kimiko lost her voice at a young age after being kidnapped by the Shining Light Liberation Army in Japan after they brutally murdered her parents. She was forced to appear in a knife fight to the death where making a sound was strictly prohibited. Kimiko had to embrace muteness until now.
