Pedro Pascal is one of a kind, he is one of the actors with almost zero haters. However, the actor was clueless about the context of the show, he had no idea about the game.

Pedro Pascal is candid. The actor who claimed the most deserved accolades with the HBO show on Max, The Last Of Us, revealed that he had zero clue about the game, the show was based on. Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Pascal revealed he needed quite the explaining.

“I didn’t know about the game before I got the job and then I got the job and I found out very quickly about the game it’s a very famous video game. I needed it needed to be explained to me,” Pascal said.

The Last Of Us was one of the most discussed shows of 2023 and it has elevated Pascal’s fame to another height. Certainly, amid several accolades, the actor went on to secure a Golden Globe nod for his role, Joel.

While Pascal was sure that the show would be something bigger but had no idea the primary essence of it. As the actor was dwelling on whether to take the job or not, he called his sister who has two sons. The phone was on the loudspeaker and they overheard the conversation between the siblings. “When I got the job, uh, I was very familiar with HBO. I was very familiar with Craig Mazin who created Chernobyl,” Pascal said on The Graham Norton Show.

“But I called my sister who’s got two teenage boys. And I was on speakers when she answered, she was dropping them off at school and she’s like, ‘What’s going on?’ And I said. ‘well there’s this job offer and uh or opportunity, um tha,t uh it’s based actually on a video game’ and uh, Bruno and Pedador my nephew’s names, and they’re like ‘what is it?’ I was like, ‘It’s called the LA…’ ‘The Last of Us?’ ‘You better get that job.’”

Glad that he did. Pascal was as fans called it, amazing and the show also received immaculate critical appraisal. Also, his chemistry with Bella Ramsey was beautiful as it was the reminiscence of the game itself. The show is renewed for the second season but the release info is still under wraps.
