Nova is finally making his MCU debut, although not immediately, the confirmation from Kevin Feige made it ironclad. The Marvel Boss recently had a chat with Comicbook.com’s Brandon Davis where he revealed that a Nova project featuring Richard Rider is in development while confirming that it will be a series for Disney+.

“It’s happening, it’s coming together. Richard Rider, yep,” Feige said of Nova’s debut in the MCU. He went on to add that it will be “A show, yeah, yeah.” However, it would not be the immediate entry, “It’s three or four years out,” Feige added detailing the release of the show.

Marvel’s head of streaming, animation, and television Brad Winderbaum also teased the project. “We love Nova. We are in really early development on Nova,” Winderbaum previously stated. “We have a new system behind the scenes at Marvel Studios. We’re more like a traditional studio now. We’re developing more than we actually will produce. There are plans to develop Nova. I love Nova, too. I love Rich Rider, too. I hope it gets to the screen. The world is always chaos. There’s always things. You gotta conjure these things to make them happen but I would love to see a Nova show, one day,” he added.

Finally, it’s happening, after the series Nova may have cameos across Marvel projects in the future.

James Gunn Could Introduce Nova In The MCU

James Gunn, now DC boss, has directed Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy for Marvel Studios. In comics, instances of Nova Corps’ interactions with the Guardians are evident and it was surprising for many to see Gunn excluding Nova in his films. However, Gunn had his reasons as he clarified why he refused Nova’s MCU debut through his movies.

“Yeah, I never had Richard Rider in anything. He’s just too big of a character and he seemed too… I didn’t want to… From the beginning, when I came on board Guardians, I didn’t want to have two human beings. I wanted to have one human being so that he could be surrounded in this world of aliens. And then we realized little by little, that all of these characters are the only of their kind, they’re the only human being to them, you know?” Gunn previously told Comicbook.com.

Gunn’s franchise still worked even without Nova as it has claimed over $2.4 billion at the global box office. Now, Gunn has moved to DC as the co-CEO of the studio with Peter Safran.
