Deadpool & Wolverine is set for a global theatrical release after several intricate coolness teasing and poking fans leaving them curious about the movie. Ryan Reynolds who has made the Deadpool franchise cool is now joined by Hugh Jackman in the upcoming Marvel slate. Jackman’s Wolverine died in Logan but his return with a twist has made several headlines and has been the talk of the town. However, his return was not the only cool thing that happened, fans were over the moon after MCU made one subtle change to the character that 20th Century Fox vehemently ignored, thanks to Marvel Boss Kevin Feige.
Deadpool & Wolverine Camera Test Puts Tears In Eyes Of Grown Men
The emotion among fans was at its peak when Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine put on the iconic and comic-accurate yellow suit in Deadpool & Wolverine. The emotion among fans is understandable as 20th Century Fox deprived Jackman of the classic suit in his tenure under the studio. As Fox became a part of Disney following the acquisition of the company in 2019, Marvel Studios now has the wand to make things right, especially with fan-favorite Logan.
So they did and as Deadpool & Wolverine executive producer Wendy Jacobson in her chat with HeyUGuys’ Scott Davis shared that grown men were “sobbing” during the camera test seeing Jackman in the yellow suit after 17 years.
“It was one of the craziest things,” Jacobson told Davis when asked about the yellow suit that has been the talk of the town since its public appearance. “It was the camera test. It was before we started shooting. To see both of those guys, first of all, in costume together was just mind-blowing, but Hugh walking out in the yellow and blue, I mean, there were grown men, like, sobbing on set. So we knew it was a special, very special thing.”

Certainly, it has made all the difference. On top of Hugh Jackman’s return when fans thought that he hung up his boots in Logan, the yellow costume was the icing on the cake that fans desperately needed.
Kevin Feige Insisted On Wolverine’s Yellow Costume In Deadpool & Wolverine
Marvel Boss Kevin Feige agreed to Jackman’s Wolverine return but had only one conduction and that was to make his MCU debut spectacular with the yellow suit. Recently, speaking with Variety, the Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy shared that he was much obliged to meet the demand from Feige, “We immediately responded, ‘Hell f*cking yes.’”
In the same interview with the outlet, Jackman who played Wolverine for 24 years, revealed that “part of my brain was institutionalized that that’s the way it is” after seeing “everyone was in black leather” in his first X-Men movie under the banner of Fox. “As soon as I put [the yellow suit] on, I couldn’t believe I never had before,” he added.
His co-star Reynolds was surprised by the crowd’s reaction to the costume, “I’ve never seen a crew reaction like that.” The Deadpool star added, “We barely talked about the suit in the early development because it was a no-brainer. You don’t do this character now unless he’s in the suit.”
In another interview with Variety, Feige also commented on the suit. “Hugh Jackman having never appeared in the character’s most iconic suit is like being Superman in 10 movies and never wearing the Superman costume. It’s a testament to Wolverine that it didn’t necessarily matter; the character is more than the costume,” the Marvel President said.
When Feige realized that the Australian actor was in the movie, he went from studio mode to “You know you gotta get in the yellow outfit, right?” he added.
Deadpool & Wolverine is slated for July 26 release.
