Eric Nam As The Adult Aang and Dave Bautista As The Villian Have Been Cast In The Animated ‘Aang: The Last Airbender’ Movie

At CinemaCon today, Paramount announced that Dave Bautista and Eric Nam are set to headline the voice cast for the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie. The project is currently being referred to as Aang: The Last Airbender.

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios revealed at CinemaCon 2024 that Eric Nam and Dave Bautista are stepping into the world of Aang and his company, per a Variety report. 

Nam will voice Aang in the first film from the animated Avatar film trilogy and Bautista has been cast in a villain role, with Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and Roman Zaragoza rounding out the cast. However, plot details are kept under wraps. 

Lauren Montgomery, who has experience working on the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series, is directing the project, with William Mata as the co-director chair. Original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will serve as executive producing alongside Eric Coleman. 

The animated movie is slated for theatrical release on Oct. 10, 2025. The original animated Avatar series ran from 2005 to 2008 on Nickelodeon, with The Legend of Korra continuing its story from 2012 to 2014. Earlier this year, Netflix released a live-action version of the show.

Popular musician and K-pop idol Singer Eric Nam will voice the character of protagonist Aang in the upcoming animated movie. he has been a part of several projects such as The Loud House, and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. 

And, now he is ready to take his career to another field. Expressing his excitement on Instagram to voice Aang, he said that he is so thrilled. And, given his popularity, it can be considered a good cast.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has been renewed for seasons two and three. And, according to a report by Variety, showrunner Albert Kim has stepped down and the show will have Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani step in as showrunners starting in season two.
