Created in the TV series The Debut: Dream Academy, KATSEYE is a group which consists of Sophia, Manon, Daniella, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae. Their impressive debut (SIS (Soft Is Strong)) made a serious impression last year and was followed by two very bright singles: their debut single, 2016 hit-song Debut, and Touch. Their new album, Beautiful Chaos, keeps this momentum bolstered by an appropriately emotional lyric and genre confusion in production.
In a recent interview with NME, member Lara teased the group’s creative direction: “Oh my god, I see a lot of evolution. I feel like soon we’re going to tap into more different genres, maybe like R&B, maybe even more dance-heavy. We’re gonna try a lot of different things.”
Dani echoed that sense of artistic curiosity: “It’s all [about] keeping the KATSEYE vibe within exploring different genres… bringing in the cultural elements, different languages maybe, instruments and choreography. We are really, really musical as people so I think we’re very open to trying anything.”
Critics and fans agree: KATSEYE is a K-pop force to watch

KATSEYE has already earned so much recognition after the acclaim of their high-concept visuals and easy-to-remember hooks. NME ranked them as one of the best emerging artists of 2025 where they named the new single Touch as one of the best songs of 2024. Their style that operates freely between genres and the fact that they appeal to audiences worldwide make them one of the most promising young acts in K-pop.
