Josh Brolin has been a huge hit with Marvel as he played the big baddie, Thanos in the Infinity Saga dominating Avengers: Infinity Wars and Endgame. Subsequently, his role as Cable was also hailed by fans (under the 20th Century Fox), however, most fans are not ready to see the actor as Hal Jordan after a recent report caught the attention of fans claiming that the actor was offered the DC role in the highly anticipated series, Lanterns.
Josh Brolin Was Reportedly Offered The Role Of Hal Jordan
Josh Brolin’s prowess as an actor has been self-explanatory with several masterful titles to his credit. His touch on superhero roles was also glorious, of course, excluding DC’s Jonah Hex— one of the biggest flops. As per a recent report by Nexus Point News, Brolin has been offered the role of Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the highly anticipated series, Lantern. The report further claimed that the character will be a Lantern legend and will be a veteran member of the Corps. He will team up with new recruit John Stewart to solve earthly mysteries.
Following the report, industry insider, InSneider has confirmed the news. However, they have not confirmed if Brolin has accepted the offer.
While the confirmation awaits, it is possible that the actor might accept the offer as he is seemingly comfortable with comic book roles. As for the series, James Gunn previously confirmed that Lanterns is super important to DC.
Fans Are Not In Favor Of Josh Brolin’s Hal Jordan Casting
The news of Brolin’s casting as Hal Jordan quickly spread like wildfire among fans. While some fans are excited about the Oscar-nominated star wearing the Green Lantern ring in his detective adventure with John Stewart, most have shown displeasure despite his legacy as a remarkable actor.
I'm sorry, but no. He doesn't suit the damn character. I'd say maybe Austin Butler or something.

I feel like there are so many better roles for Josh Brolin to play in the DCU other than Hal Jordan:
Yes, I do think he can could back to play a better Jonah Hex pic.twitter.com/kQJGiv0KJF

I'm not on board with the Josh Brolin casting (even though it's just a rumour) so here are my picks for Hal Jordan in the DCU:
– Glen Powell
– Alden Ehrenreich
– Josh Hartnett
– James Marsden pic.twitter.com/DK4XPJU65M— Gotham Chief (@GothamChief) September 3, 2024
I love Josh Brolin, but him as Hal doesn't feel right.
I know they're going with an older Hal, but this old, no disrespect for Josh Brolin, though he's a terrific actor and was superb as Thanos.
I hope he doesn't get cast because there are so many other better picks for Hal: pic.twitter.com/b3WnnrzrmC— Milkias Samuel (@milkias_samuel) September 2, 2024

I need some young actors to be cast in this role. pic.twitter.com/BheHWevnxY

Brolin’s age is my only issue, otherwise I think he’d bring some fantastic sincerity to Hal’s portrayal that’s been lost in live action since the Rush Reynolds film pic.twitter.com/XSUij2gnxB

Still, the idea is hard to dismiss, DC might see Brolin as the perfect fit for the role. As for Brolin, he might just accept the role, and without a shred of doubt he will nail the role but again, the age factor has remained a huge concern for fans. So far, the release window for Lanterns has been disclosed.
