‘X-Men’ Star Finally Revealed The Real Reason Why THIS Electric Character Was Missing From ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

But really, why this X-Men star wasn’t featured In ‘Deadpool & Wolverine?’

Deadpool & Wolverine can be easily defined as a cinematic package from Marvel Studios with spectacular cameos complementing the R-rated comedy. While the movie has several cameos brought back to treat fans with nostalgia, fans could feel the absence of several other characters in the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-led movie. Of course, it is beyond logical sense to bring all Marvel characters but one actor in particular, was ready to make an appearance in the movie but it never happened.

Halle Berry has a few comic book roles to her credit including her DC role as Catwoman and most famous Marvel role as Storm who appeared in X-Men movies under the banner of 20th Century Fox. However, Berry’s Storm cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine never happened and the actor finally revealed the reason behind it despite being ever ready to spark her eyes again.

During her promotional tour for her latest Netflix action thriller The Union starring alongside Mark Wahlberg, Berry revealed that Ryan Reynolds or Shawn Levy never approached her for a cameo in the movie despite Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively (who also has a stunning cameo as Lady Deadpool) asking her about her potential return.

“No. Blake [Lively] asked me one time, I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me,” the Storm actor told Comicbook.com.

Berry’s cameo would have been phenomenal alongside Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Dafne Keen’s X-23/Laura, and Channing Tatum’s first onscreen appearance as Gambit but would it fit the larger narrative?

But Really, Why Storm Wasn’t Featured In Deadpool & Wolverine?

would Halle Berry's Deadpool & wolverine cameo make sense?

Of course, Berry wanted to return to her X-Men role but it was never on the card for Levy and Reynolds. Certainly, we have seen several X-Men cameos but none of them were heroes but villainous side-kicks now appearing as members of Cassandra Nova’s army. The other cameos were also not from the mainline X-Men movie except Keen’s Laura. Why? The very backstory of Wolverine left little space for more cameo of X-Men heroes. The Wolverine (initially presented as the worst Wolverine) was responsible for the death of his teammates including Storm in his own timeline. And that’s the whole point, his redemption arc would be messy if any major characters from the X-Men appeared in the movie.

While fans loved seeing Aaron Stanford play Pyro, and Tyler Mane as Sabertooth alongside other villainous characters such as Juggernaut and Lady Deathstrike; once again, it is worth noting that they were all villains. Despite the mention of Professor X neither James McAvoy nor Patrick Stewart made an appearance, same goes for Cyclops and Jean.

So, it is fairly understandable why Reynolds and Levy kept Storm and other major characters away from the movie but Berry’s character has all the potential for her return in perhaps Avengers: Secret Wars as anything is possible in the multiverse. Now that X-Men characters are officially under the MCU, the possibility of the star’s future MCU debut is close to reality.

As for Deadpool & Wolverine, the Shawn Levy-directed Marvel movie went on to be a mega hit surpassing the elite $1 billion box office club.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in theaters.
