Ryan Reynolds has recently thanked the actors who made their cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine claiming astonishing reception from fans. Of course, Deadpool & Wolverine is a fan-fest giving fans the absolute nostalgia treat with several Fox characters but in between, one of the most important people of Marvel Studios’ inception, Jon Favreau’s cameo was hilarious and stunning. Now, Reynolds thanked the actor/director for his cameo in his latest Marvel blockbuster.

Ryan Reynolds shared his admiration for Jon Favreau, who made a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine as Happy Hogan. Favreau’s role in the movie is both hilarious and significant for him as he directed the first two Iron Man movies starring Robert Downey Jr and the success of the movies has led to the stunning beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Favreau played the role of a foundational Marvel forefather who interviewed Reynolds’ Wade Wilson as he attempted to join the Avengers. Reynolds took to X to take a humorous pinch at Favreau, “If I have his number right, he is WILDLY uncomfortable with everything I’m writing in this post. But f*ck it, I got what I needed out of him so he’s gonna drink the medicine.”
One of the aspects Reynolds loves about playing Deadpool is that the character, much like himself, is a Marvel fan. He further shared how working with Jon Favreau, “one of the original creatives who built an empire,” was an experience that surpassed even meeting one of his heroes. In classic Reynolds fashion, he added that it was “almost better than being cradled in Thor’s powerful arms while he sobs like a fucking motherless child who lost his binky in a house fire.”
Reynolds also stated that while Favreau’s performance was incredible, what mattered even more was his generosity with time and energy, especially when it came to discussing the story and brainstorming larger themes and ideas. He ended his tribute with a heartfelt note: “I’d drop everything to show up for this guy anytime or anywhere. Thank you, Jon.”

Jon Favreau is one of the most important people in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but he has been an unsung hero since the inception of the superhero brand. The director first insisted on bringing Iron Man onto the screen at a time when Marvel Studios was just laying the first bricks to its foundation.
With no surprise, Favreau had to convince everyone to bring Iron Man a reality. The Marvel character we love today existed in the comics as a B-tier superhero and the studio was not in favor of taking a huge risk with it. Thanks to Favreau, his persistence made it a reality but there was another obstacle standing in his way.
Robert Downey Jr had a troubled past and was jailed but Favreau was dead set on casting him as Tony Stark, but the studio was looking for some risk-free and popular names including Tom Cruise, who later rejected the movie. Favreau finally convinced the execs to cast RDJ as Iron Man and the first movie was a stunning hit which led to two more sequels, he directed the second installment as well.
Favreau also made several on-screen appearances as happy Hogan including Spider-Man: Far From Home and Avengers: Endgame. He also served as executive producer on every Avengers movie.
