Dafne Keen’s return as X-23 aka Laura in Deadpool & Wolverine is a moment to cherish for Marvel fans. Thanks to Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy, fans got every splendid cameo they wanted. Amid being the subject of the talk of the town with other actors she appeared with, an audition tape of Keen with Hugh Jackman for Logan has resurfaced, and fans immediately loved the acute nostalgia.
Dafne Keen Was Insecure Of Her Logan Audition
Now fans love her Logan audition but Dafne Keen was pretty unsure of the audition for the 2017 film directed by James Mangold. “It was pretty crazy,” Keen told Deadline in 2020.
“Honestly, when I did the auditions, I was really insecure, because I remember I went in, and there was this really beautiful, blonde, American girl [auditioning]. I came in a scruffy, 11-year-old, tiny Latina girl, and thought, ‘I’m not going to get to it’—and then I got it,” she added.
Of course, Keen was just 11 years old when she did the movie and she shined with her character. Thankfully, she got the right environment on the set. Moving to the U.S. for filming, particularly to New Orleans, was nerve-wracking for her, as she had only filmed in Spain before. However, the people on set made her feel comfortable and at home, easing her concerns.
Keen said, she also fell in love with acting on the set of Logan, “I really fell in love with acting then.” Adding further, the actor stated, “Because I realized that it’s not only the acting. It’s the fact that you did it, all in a group. I love working in groups, and I love feeling that what I’m doing is bigger than just myself.”
Keen, now 19, debuted as an X-Men character Laura in Logan. She is the biological daughter of Logan played by Hugh Jackman. Both the actors made their spectacular return in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Fans perceive the resurfaced audio tape of Keen and Jackman as adorable. The eleven-year-old keen saying her lines in front of Jackman who has been an X-Men veteran was a pure delight to watch for Marvel fans. Here’s how they reacted to the footage—

Keen previously revealed that she has learned a lot from Jackman. “Hugh’s taught me so much about acting,” she said during her chat with Deadline. “Hugh is one of the most humble people, and he said to me, he tries to talk to everyone on set. He’s as mindful as possible, and I saw that from the beginning,” she added.
Now, with Keen’s return to her role and her debut in the MCU with other X-Men characters, it is possible that the actor may get her solo projects in the near future as Marvel Studios will focus more on the Mutant Era as stated by the Marvel Boss Kevin Feige himself.
Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in theaters.
