Action star Tom Cruise made sure to spare some time for his Top Gun: Maverick co-star, Glen Powell who is on a back-to-back streak of delivering hit movies proving his prowess as a rising star in Hollywood. After the actor’s recent Netflix hit Hit Man, he is now on a promotional tour for his latest movie Twisters— a Lee Isaac Chung-directed disaster film that is a standalone sequel to Jan de Bont’s 1996 film, Twister.
Cruise attend the London premiere of the movie. The 62-year-old shared a photograph with Powell (perhaps before getting into the theaters as popcorn buckets both the stars were holding their popcorn buckets) on Instagram. “Fun night with friends, watching a movie!!” Cruise captioned.
Seemingly, Cruise very much enjoyed the movie as Powell’s co-star Anthony Ramos exclusively told PEOPLE that the veteran action star “was losing his mind” during the premiere of the tornado movie. Also starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Twisters comes from a story by Joseph Kosinski that was penned by The Revenant screenwriter, Mark L. Smith.

According to Ramos who spoke with PEOPLE after the Los Angeles premiere of the movie on July 11, Cruise “was losing his mind” during the screening of the movie. “Glen was sitting behind me, my brother was next to me, and Tom was behind my brother. Tom just kept hitting me the whole entire movie,” Ramos told the outlet.
After the third time he turned back around, “like, ‘Yo, Tom Cruise is bugging out right now!’ He keeps hitting me.” He added, “He keeps hitting me because he’s excited about different moments, and he’s laughing,” continuing, “He’s just laughing out loud the whole entire film. He wasn’t afraid to express himself. I was super grateful about that.”
While Cruise’s excitement during the screening seems to be the self-explanatory verdict in itself, Ramos said Cruise didn’t miss the opportunity to shower some good words of encouragement. “He’s like, ‘Yo, bro, good man, good stuff.’ So shout out to Tom Cruise, man. It was really cool,” the 32-year-old said adding, “We hugged it out.”
Twisters also star Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sasha Lane, Daryl McCormack, Kiernan Shipka, Nik Dodani, Tunde Adebimpe, Katy O’Brian, Paul Scheer, James Paxton and Superman star David Corenswet.
Twisters is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes claiming a stunning 79% score on Tomatometer from 38 reviews from critics.
