Put Superman and Homelander in a fight for the undisputed championship of a league of superpowered beings in your imaginary world and guess the winner. It would be fun. The Boys’ villainous character Homelander is a narcissistic, self-centered, and ruthless character but has almost similar traits to Superman. So, who would win this fight? Antony Starr who played Homelander in The Boys thinks Homelander has certain leverages over Superman but his statement has rattled fans to the core.
Superman Vs Homelander: Antony Starr’s Verdict On The Hypothetical Battle
A hypothetical battle between Superman and Homelander would be fun albeit the comparison is not fair for most fans. Antony Starr plays Homelander, a parody of Superman created for the hit Prime Video show The Boys. Irrespective of the versions of Superman in the live-action movies or animation, Starr gave his verdict on the hypothetical battle. Speaking with ScreenRant, Starr deflected his co-star Jack Quaid whose character is the mortal enemy of Homelander in the show.
Starr was rather surprised by Quaid’s comment on the matter, “Oh, really? Is that what he thinks?” he asked the interviewer. The actor went on to differ his opinion claiming Superman would not stand a chance, “Here’s why Homelander would kick Superman’s ass.”
Starr further added that Superman would be desperate to win the fight but would never fight dirty. Also, he has an acute vulnerability to Kryptonite. “There’s no Kryptonite factor” when it comes to Homelander. “And Homie would fight so dirty,” he continued reflecting on his character.
The actor further explained the battle saying, “He’s the [type to go], ‘Oh, you got me!’ as he goes down and then comes up and throws sand in your eyes. He’s the dirty dude, man. Whereas Superman is always like, ‘Oh, I wouldn’t do that. Oh, there’s innocent children that might get hurt.’ Homie’s going to human shield himself with the kids.”
Of course, Starr has his points but Superman’s power is unworldly and he can do things beyond the imagination of Homelander. The Man of Steel is one of the strongest superheroes in the DC Universe and has fought several villains with superhuman strength.

The only thing he’s right about is Homelander fighting dirty. Superman still washes him though.

In the 2013 live-action movie Man of Steel directed by Zack Snyder, Superman beats one of the strongest DC villains General Zod who shares quite a similar power as Superman, perhaps more. In this regard, fans think. Homelander would not stand a chance against the titular DC hero.
Jack Quaid Reflected On Superman Vs Homelander
Jack Quaid who plays Hughie Campbell in the fan-favorite The Boys also stars as Superman in My Adventures with Superman animated series. In another interview with ScreenRant prior to Anthony Starr’s, the actor revealed his thoughts on the hypothetical fight. For Quaid, Superman has to win the fight, “He has to, right?”
The actor added, “Like if he doesn’t, we’re all in trouble.” Essentially, Quaid’s comment was based upon his own Superman character, to which he said, “I think my particular version of Superman has a lot of growing to do, and he still needs to discovers some more of the powers that we all know are in there.”
Quaid went on to add that with time, his character would unlock more power, “give him a few seasons, and he can take Homelaner, for sure.”
