WrestleMania 40 Night 1 lived up to the expectations of fans with interesting matches including the most hyped Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Amid all the seriousness, the match also brought some funny incidents, one involving none other than The Rock.
The Rock Got Speared By His Cousin Roman Reigns

During the tag team match of Roman Reigns and The Rock vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40, The Tribal Chief was all set to spear Rhodes while Seth Rollins put him out of harm’s way. The Rock suddenly came in front of the Reigns’ flying spear and found himself at the receiving end of it.
The Rock’s reaction to the spear is epic, as he screams in agony but it was the moment that gave rise to a wide funny reaction among fans.
Of course, The Rock is giving his best at WrestleMania 40 even overselling the intake of a spear that even gave Reigns an absolute shocker. Reigns’ reaction was quite legit but The People’s Champion really brought back memories of the Attitude Era.
Notoriously, The Rock has always been in discussion for overselling the Stunner from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as The Rattlesnake performed his finishing move on The Brahma Bull, he flapped with astounding exaggeration, quite similar to a fish out of water.
Of course, “Stone Cold” Stunner was one of the highly hailed finishing moves in the history of the WWF/E but overselling is always visible when a wrestler does that affect taking the blow.
With the Spear from his cousin and The Head of the Table, Reigns, The Rock reacted as a giant asteroid hit his belly. Regardless, the reaction was funny as it made fans chuckle.

How deadly and intense a spear can be? Throughout history, several wrestlers performed it as their finishing move. Edge, Goldberg has been one of the few prominent wrestlers to have the iconic move in their arsenal. While Goldberg’s version seems more lethal considering his inherent physical prowess, The Rock seems to make Reigns’ spear look even more lethal. But at the end of the day it made fans enjoy the moment.

The night 1 of WrestleMania 40 was spectacular, as fans hailed it. Sami Zayn claimed victory over the Ring General Guntur winning the Intercontinental Champion breaking Gunther’s 666 days title reign. Rhea Ripley secured her victory over Becky Lynch and retained Women’s World Champion.
The action is on, Night 2 of the event will witness several high class matches including Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
