The Sheldon Cooper saga has ended with the season finale of Young Sheldon until the makers decide on another spin-off featuring Jim Parson’s iconic television character. Young Sheldon starring Iain Armitage as the younger version of Sheldon Cooper had a good run at CBS following the legacy of its sequel, The Big Bang Theory. Now, with the recent ending of the show, Armitage shared a heartfelt message.
Iain Armitage Bids Farewell To Young Sheldon
Iain Armitage was 9 when he joined Young Sheldon playing the title character and he has been marvelous with the role. Of course, Jim Parsons who played the grown-up version of Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory has been the guiding light of the show serving as the narrator but it was Armitage’s charm that could make fans love the character again.
Now, as the show has ended with its seventh and final season, Armitage shared a heartfelt message for fans. “I’ve always wondered what this day would feel like and now it’s here!” Armitage wrote on his Instagram.
The actor went on to thank his global fans, “Thank you for a wonderful ride. I will miss everyone so much and I want you to know that it’s been an honor to play this part, and it’s been a joy to work with people I love so much,” he wrote on the social platform.
The 15-year-old further revealed that he is excited about the next journey of his life and where it might lead him. “I’m excited to see what’s next and I hope you’ll join me on the next chapter, whatever that is. I truly hope you enjoy the finale. It was made with a lot of love,” he added.
Young Sheldon has certainly created astonishing memories among fans. As the Armitage-led show is ending, CBS has reportedly ordered the Georgie & Mandy spin-off starring Montana Jordan And Emily Osment.
Young Sheldon Finale Was Harder Than Iain Armitage Thought
For Armitage, getting into Sheldon’s skin was getting easier over the years as Parsons has been always there to guide him throughout. But filming the final season, especially the two-episode finale was harder than he thought. In his recent appearance on CBS Mornings, the actor revealed that he was scared after receiving the script. “I was really excited and a little scared when we got these scripts for the final two episodes,” Armitage said.
“Because they’re both so well written and just masterful but it’s always a little scary getting a script out well written because I always feel like I’m not going to be able to act at justice. Uh with something with source material that good it’s really hard to like I know I’m not going to get a look right or a line right and I always just want to be my best but I was so impressed by these final two scripts.”
The actor further revealed the tough part of filming the finale of the show but it was a wonderful way to bid farewell. “It was harder than I thought,” Armitage said of the finale.
“It was going to be but also um sort of in a weird way kind of just nice it was I thought it was a really wonderful way to say goodbye to these characters and uh you know as sad as some of the scenes were to film and as hard as some of the scenes were to film.”
Seven Years Of Good Memories
The Young Sheldon actor also reflected on the seven years of happy memories, “God uh seven years of happy memories,” he said in CBS Mornings. “Good times with my fake family,” he added.
Young Sheldon also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord Jim Parsons, Annie Potts, Matt Hobby, Wyatt McClure, and Emily Osment. But the brief cameo of Parsons and Mayim Bialik in the finale stole the show.
Six seasons of Young Sheldon are available to stream on Max.
