The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to make its second season debut on Prime Video, however, Nazanin Boniadi who played Bronwyn in the show will not return. The actor recently announced her departure from the show, taking to her official Instagram handle. Also, her character was not featured in the trailer for the upcoming season.
Nazanin Boniadi Will Not Return To The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Nazanin Boniadi revealed the reason behind her departure from the show in a recent Instagram post. The actor who played Bronwyn, mother of Theo and Tirharad’s healer, explained that her decision to quit the show was a personal choice. “I made the choice not to return for season two of ‘Rings of Power,’” Boniadi said.

However, the British actor clarified that her decision to leave the show “was unrelated” to her “subsequent decision to prioritize my advocacy.” The Homeland actor explained, “Throughout my career, the values I have held most dear are honesty, empathy and integrity.”
The actor further gave insight into her The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power character sharing how Bronwyn resonates with her personal life. “My character Bronwyn was committed to these same ideals in striving for a fairer world, which is why I connected so deeply with her.” The actor added, “I look forward to sharing my latest projects with you soon.”
Although Boniadi’s character was partially important in the first season of the hit Prime Video show, her absence will not have a heavy impact on the main storyline. Still, her return to the series would be a moment to cherish for fans.
Nazanin Boniadi Stepped Away From Acting For A While
Apart from being an actor following her passion, Boniadi is also an activist and has been devoted to her advocacy for #WomanLifeFreedom. Born in Tehran, the 44-year-old British star previously said that she stepped away from acting in 2022. “I stepped away from acting in September 2022,” Boniadi wrote in another Instagram post.
Explaining the reason, the actor wrote, “To focus solely on the #WomanLifeFreedom uprising in Iran and to advocate for the people of my homeland who have been risking everything for freedom.”
However, she made an exception for an indie film A Mosquito in the Ear Nicola Rinciari, “Despite my passion for acting, I knew it would take a very special project to convince me to once again split my time between my day job and my calling as an activist. ‘A Mosquito in the Ear’ is that project — an adaptation of the Italian graphic novel Una Zanzara nell’Orecchio from Andrea Ferraris, and the feature directorial debut from the extremely talented BAFTA Newcomer Director, Nicola Rinciari.”
As of now, the actor is still actively advocating her social activism but promised to share details of her upcoming project which indicates that Boniadi has been working on a project.
