Ti West’s X franchise, based on the original characters by the director created a massive fanbase with the first installment X, and its prequel Pearl, both released in 2022, starring horror queen Mia Goth. To complement the trilogy a new installment MaXXXine is set to debut in theaters.

Mia Goth starrer MaXXXine is the most ambitious project of the of the franchise. The A24 sequel proves to be the biggest as the movie features more prominent stars alongside Goth. Tremors star Kevin Bacon joined the latest installment of the Ti West’s franchise, who will play John Labat, a private investigator tasked to find Goth’s Maxine Minx.
Elizabeth Debicki who has astounding titles including Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, Netflix hit show The Crown, and the BBC One drama The Night Manager, to her credit, also joined the project. Debicki is set to play Elizabeth Bender, a film director working on The Puritan II.
Breaking Bad and The Gentlemen star Giancarlo Esposito will appear in MaXXine as Teddy Knight, an agent for the adult film industry, and Z-list film actors. Lily Collins will play Molly Bennett who is an actress working in The Puritan II.
The movie will also star, singer/songwriters Moses Sumney and Halsey, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang star Michelle Monaghan as Detective Williams alongside Bobby Cannavale as Detective Torres. Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher will also appear in the movie.
Mia Goth Sees MaXXXine As A Superhero Movie

Mia Goth who has been the prime star of the X franchise previously shared that she sees MaXXXine as a superhero movie. Speaking with SFX Magazine (via Games Rader), the Infinity Pool actor revealed that she even read the script that way. “I see MaXXXine as a superhero movie – that’s how I read the script,” Goth told the outlet.
“Maxine, as a character, has come a long way,” she said of the journey of her character, adding, “She’s a survivor, she’s gone through a lot.” The new movie in the franchise will put her in a completely different world than the previous installments in the franchise.
“When we meet her again, in this new world that she’s in, she’s really fought for everything that she has, and she’s not about to give that up.” But the essence of the narrative remains the same, “She’s going to fight for what she has. She’s a badass. There’s a strength to her.”
The actor went on to add that she’s a really “proactive, determined, focused woman. She goes after what she wants, and she’s not really going to take no for an answer.”
A24 and Ti West recently pulled off a surprise early screening for the fans of his slasher horror franchise’s latest installment.
MaXXXine is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 5th, 2024.
