Margot Robbie, following her success with Barbie is getting ready for another. Up next, her production company LuckyChap along with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment will produce The Sims, a movie based on the iconic computer game. Launched first in 2000, the game had its subsequent sequels, The Sims 2, 3, and 4 across PC, Mac, and consoles.

As per new report by The Hollywood Reporter, The Sims, one of the most popular video games is getting a feature film treatment. Margot Robbie is set to bring this video game to the big screen.
The movie will be directed by Kate Herron, known for her work on Marvel’s Loki, first season. Herron will also co-write the screenplay with Briony Redman. The Sims publisher Electronic Arts will be involved both creatively and as a producing partner.
No details about the plot, cast and release date are confirmed as of now. It was reported back in 2007 that a live-action adaptation of The Sims was in development but it got canceled in 2019.
Currently, video game movies like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Minecraft and The Lego Movie tasted success and thus, the timing of The Sims to make is perfect given the fact that it has got a really huge fanbase.

Nearly 200 million copies of the game have been purchased worldwide.
All players in this video game control their own avatars and need to make them do all their work like building homes to build relationships, bringing up kids to even play out their downfalls. And with each expansion, the game will allow the characters to delve deeper into their works. Players can expand their virtual family depending on the edition.
The game does have iconic families like Goth and Landgraab whose presence gives the game an enduring appeal and endless possibilities.
With each new expansion, the game unveiled new themes, locations and life experiences. A release date hasn’t yet been set for The Sims movie.
