CM Punk’s WWE return was one of the biggest surprises WWE has pulled off in 2024. However, the wrestler met with a serious tricep injury during Men’s Royal Rumble. WWE has intended Punk to be headlining WrestleMania 40 but unforeseen injuries sidelined the wrestler. However, Punk is not entirely out of the game, he has mic skills in his arsenal to offer to the company.
CM Punk Will Appear In WrestleMania 40
A piece of good news for CM Punk fans as The Best In The World is set to appear in WrestleMania 40. Of course, he is not medically cleared to compete in the squared circle but Punk has more to offer for fans and the company beyond his in-ring skill. Punk recently revealed that he will appear in the biggest WWE event as a commentator.
In his appearance on the recent episode of Monday Night Raw in a promo with Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, the rival trio had a heated verbal exchange roasting each other. Amid the roasting, Punk revealed that he would be sitting on the commentator’s chair during WrestleMania 40. “I’m obviously injured, I’m not 100%, I’m not medically cleared,” Punk said after the promo appearing on WWE Digital Exclusive.
“And I feel when I come here and there’s 16,000 plus people, and you’re responsible for a lot of them being there, this place is sold out tight, hanging from the raptors. I feel such a responsibility to wanna give them a show that I can’t right now because I paid the price of being a professional wrestler since I was 15. But I felt I gave them a little bit of that guy, I gave them that CM Punk that they know and love, that they wanna see, that dangerous guy on the microphone.”
If not in the squared circle, fans will definitely love to see Punk sitting on the commentator’s chair with his witty and fearless statements.
CM Punk Addressed Confronting The Rock, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre
In the WWE Digital Exclusive segment, Punk further addressed his confrontation with Dwayne Johnson. “I’m glad, confidence in perspective,” Punk said of The Rock whose return has changed the very scenario of WWE but hinted at potentially crossing paths with the People’s Champion.
“I’m glad Rock’s back, and it’s good to see that he knows his role, and he’s kept his mouth shut. Anything goes here in this new era, WWE, me being back, I’m gonna cross paths with everybody sooner or later.”
Punk went on to address Rollins and McIntyre saying, “I think Drew would say that we have to figure out something for me to do to justify my bloated contract.”
“But let’s face it, who’s the five tool player in the WWE right now? It’s this guy, I’d like to maybe try my hand out as a referee. But honestly, I would not be able to be impartial with those two idiots, so, maybe commentary is the best thing to do.”
Certainly, Punk’s commentary would be a highlighting factor, especially, in the Rollins vs. McIntyre brawl for the World Heavyweight Championship considering Punk has a beef against both the superstar.
