After Loki Season 2 we all have the same question, will Loki return to MCU? While the possibility of Tom Hiddleston’s titular MCU character’s return seems imminent, the final verdict on the matter has not been exclusively revealed by the actor of Marvel Studios. However, recently insider Alex Perez spilled some fascinating details of Loki’s potential return.

As per the Q&A of insider Alez Perez at the Cosmic Circus Discord Server, the possibility of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki return is on the card. Sam Wilson’s Captain America Sam Wilson and Joaquin Torres’ new Falcon are reportedly set to appear in Avengers 5 alongside Wong, Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, Shang-Chi, Katy, Black Panther, Ironheart, She-Hulk, Hulk, Thor, Valkyrie, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Clea, America Chavez, Ms. Marvel, Stature (Cassie Lang), Kate Bishop, and of course, Clint Barton.
The insider further shared that Ant-Man & The Wasp duo are also returning but it is unclear if Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp will return to play the character as the actor recently announced her break from acting.
Back to Loki, Perez further shared that the TVA will play a very central part in this story following the events of Deadpool & Wolverine, “so expect some of the Loki fan favorites to return.”
That’s reassuring, Marvel fans would be over the moon to see Hiddleston reprising the character again. The British actor played the titular character for over 14 years making his first appearance in the 2011 movie Thor alongside Chris Hemsworth.

Perez also revealed the astonishing extent of the detail of how Loki can return for the movie— it has all the links to the final episode of Loki season 2 and the season finale, Glorious Purpose. From entering the MCU being a villain, the character archetype has surprisingly changed as Loki becomes the multiverse itself holding every string that connects to the Yggdrasil– the tree of life. “Picture Yggdrasil as the new McGuffin/Infinity Gauntlet of the Multiverse Saga,” the insider said.

“He/She/They who control Yggdrasil will control over the entire Multiverse and bend it to their will. Everyone will want their hands on it. Right now, Loki has control over it, and he is simply keeping the Multiverse at peace and preventing incursions as best he can to ensure that every universe is able to exist in stable harmony,” in an Avengers movie in the Multiverse Saga, the essence of this narrative will be crucial. So, by default, it means, Loki’s return would be necessary. But Perez said, “there is only so much the ‘God of Stories’ is able to do. After all, as much as I would want him to be, Loki is not a God. Much like everyone else, he is born, he lives, and eventually, he will die. And what do you think will happen then?” His last statement is kind of threatening and has sparked intense suspense, making us wait for the movie even more.

Will Hiddleston return? The MCU star appeared for a chat with Variety as he attempted to test if he recalls the lines from his most famous movies and TV shows. Reflecting on his character in the Disney+ series, the 43-year-old shared that he was happy with the end of the narrative. “I feel very happy with the narrative conclusion of season 2,” Hiddleston said.

He added, “I feel like, as Mobius says, sometimes purpose is more burden than glory – and Loki’s found his purpose after all, which is to commit himself to protecting the lives of others by holding the timelines together.” But what’s next for the character? As of yet, the actor has no clue, “Where we go from here, I don’t know, I really don’t. He’s listening, he’s watching. That’s all I know for now.”
The return of Loki in Avengers 5 would be massive and obviously, Marvel Studios would definitely need such fan-favorite characters to fill the void left by Iron Man, Black Widow, and Steve Rogers. Until more updates, fingers crossed.
