Ryan Reynolds pulled off the biggest fan fest with Deadpool & Wolverine bringing several cameos, mostly from the Fox-Marvel shared universe, partnering with the movie’s director Shawn Levy. While Hugh Jackman’s return was itself a big deal and considerably a bold move, the perfectly placed cameos have stunned the viewers with absolute fun throughout the nostalgia treat. Chris Evans who appeared in the movie in a remarkable cameo shared his experience of returning to the MCU and fans hailed the actor for it.
Chris Evans Thanked Ryan Reynolds For His Return To The MCU
It is no secret that Ryan Reynolds pulled multiple strings to make the threequel of Deadpool franchise happen, this time under the banner of Marvel Studios which itself was a big step. Following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019, all X-Men characters transitioned under the umbrella of Marvel’s banner. Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the two MCU projects to be the pioneer of the transition. Reynolds’ project evolved over time as he convinced Shawn Levy and later the duo locked the deal with Marvel Boss Kevin Feige as soon as Hugh Jackman was on board.
But when it comes to the cameos, Reynolds who also penned the movie with director Levy and Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, did most of the heavy lifting, at least interviews from the actors who appeared in the movie made it quite clear. Chris Evans who ended his Steve Rogers/Captain America tenure five years ago with Avenegrs: Endgame, previously played another Marvel character, The Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies. Evans thanked Reynolds for considering his previous Marvel character back after a 17-year gap.

“Thank you to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy for letting me be a part of such an incredible movie!” Evans wrote on his Instagram story sharing a photo of him with Reynolds, Jackman, and Levy on the Deadpool & Wolverine set. “They’re three of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Special thank you to Ryan for making it all happen. Playing Johnny again was a dream come true and he’ll always have a special place in my heart,” he added.
Evans’ return as Johnny Storm was definitely one of the biggest Marvel cameos which was a stunning surprise for fans worldwide.
Fans Hailed Chris Evans’ Return To The MCU
“Flame on,” Johnny Storm said as he attempted to stop Cassandra Nova’s army in the void from capturing Deadpool and Wolverine. It was a shocker to Deadpool as he was expecting Evans as Steve Rogers but as he unveiled his costume, Deadpool’s enthusiastic scream “Avengers assemble” was interrupted with “Flame on.” Albeit disappointing Deadpool, it was a hilarious moment in the movie.
They got me hard with this one, never saw it coming.

Evans’ failed attempt to tame the army was also bone-tickling as his horrible landing as Pyro (Aaron Stanford) tamed his fire. Storm’s death in the hands of Emma Corrin’s Cassandra Nova was quite meticulous, or rather innovative, and was designed to arouse laughter at his expense. While it seemed the Merc with the Mouth was to blame for his death, the post-credit revelation of the truth intensified the laughter to a level unimaginable.
