SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine.
Okay, once again, why on Earth Thor was crying?
Thor cried when Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool was seemingly dying at the TVA monitor as Mr Paradox played by Matthew Macfadyen attempted to inspire the Merc with the Mouth to join his TVA to give a purpose to his life while Deadpool was suffering from a midlife crisis. Like Deadpool, Thor’s cry also made the audience curious but Deadpool & Wolverine left the question unanswered. Now, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth redacted to the scene.
Chris Hemsworth And Ryan Reynolds Joined In A Hilarious Banter
Chris Hemsworth who played Thor since 2011 in the MCU, recently reacted to Ryan Reynolds’ post where the Deadpool actor took to X to share his photo from the moment with the caption, writing, “I know why Thor was crying. I can’t unknow it. #DeadpoolAndWolverine.”
Hemsworth reposted Reynolds’ post captioning, “I can keep secrets too.” Reynolds, however, was seemingly in a mood to turn it into a hilarious banter as he added, “Hahaha. Australians are actually terrible secret keepers. That’s why we didn’t tell Hugh he was shooting a Wolverine movie til halfway through filming.”

Australian actor Hugh Jackman who played Wolverine for over 24 years recently marked his MCU debut with Deadpool & Wolverine, was also unaware of the reason behind Thor’s tears for Deadpool, at least according to Reynolds.
It appears that only Reynolds and director Shawn Levy know the real reason why Thor was super emotional in a seemingly battleground background. Since the release of the movie, the question has left Marvel fans in a wonderland and Reynolds is in no mood to answer that anytime soon.
Why Was Thor Crying in Deadpool and Wolverine?
Reynolds teasing that he knows why Thor was crying has sparked curiosity among fans to another level, even Hemsworth couldn’t escape it.
For more context, here’s what was happening on the scene. The scene involves Thor holding Deadpool with tears in his eyes. One part of Deadpool’s mask was torn revealing his face. “What is that? Is that me? Is that Thor? Is he crying?” Deadpool, the present version asked Mr Paradox who brought him to the TVA to help him with his own secret mission he has been secretly running.
“Uh let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Paradox responded. “That happens in the distant future,” he added attempting to make Deadpool ignore the scene on the monitor. However, it stuck with him as we have seen him uttering Thor’s name in more than one instance.

Jokes apart, the scene secretly revealed one thing about Deadpool’s future. Since TVA can foresee the future before it happens (hence the distant future Thor crying scene), it secretly gave away the fact that Deadpool will die someday in the distant future, possibly in a great battle. Deadpool might die a heroic death after building a friendship with the Avengers, particularly Thor. The event may occur in Avengers: Secret Wars with Deadpool fighting alongside the Avengers against Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom.
Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in theaters.
