Isn’t it strange at the very first place, that something which involves Marvel can make someone frustrated? Locke recently discussed what it feels like to keep mum about his role or you can say keeping everything secret.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is set to welcome a new face as Joe Locke makes his debut in the upcoming series Agatha All Along. Fans of the popular Disney+ show WandaVision are eagerly anticipating this spin-off, which will continue the story of Agatha Harkness, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn. The first official trailer has already left viewers excited, particularly with Locke’s introduction to the MCU, a significant step for the young actor best known for his role in Heartstopper. Locke’s entry into the MCU, however, has been marked by strict secrecy, a hallmark of Marvel Studios, which has posed unique challenges for the actor.

Locke, who has been tight-lipped about his role, recently opened up about the difficulties of maintaining such a significant secret. In an interview with ComicBook, Locke shared that keeping details of his character under wraps has been a real challenge. “It has been infuriating sometimes,” Locke mentioned, as he often felt the urge to discuss the thrilling aspects of the show. However, he acknowledged the importance of secrecy, stating that “the amazing things in the show are only amazing if the secrets are kept until they’re supposed to be.” This emphasis on confidentiality ensures that the twists and turns of the show have their intended impact when finally revealed to the audience.

Locke’s character, intriguingly named ‘Teen,’ has sparked much speculation among fans. Despite some skepticism, Locke clarified, “Teen is not, like a placeholder name or codename; that’s actually what my character is named in the show.” The actor’s firm stance on this matter only adds to the mystery surrounding his role, suggesting that his character may play a pivotal part in the unfolding narrative.

The secrecy surrounding Locke’s involvement with Marvel began as early as the audition process. Recalling the experience, Locke noted that the project was initially described as an “Untitled Marvel project” with an “untitled role.” It wasn’t until the fourth audition round that he learned the true nature of the project. This level of confidentiality is typical of Marvel, known for its careful handling of plot details to preserve the element of surprise for its audience.

Joe Locke’s excitement about joining the MCU is palpable, particularly given his long-standing admiration for Marvel films. Reflecting on his childhood, Locke shared, “I’m a big Marvel fan. When I was younger, that’s the thing that me and my friends did because there’s not really a huge amount to do in the Isle of Man, where I grew up. So the thing you do is go and see the new Marvel film war.” This connection to Marvel’s world of superheroes adds a personal layer to Locke’s debut, making it a dream come true for the young actor.

Agatha All Along promises to be a thrilling addition to the MCU, focusing on the story of Agatha Harkness as she navigates new challenges. The plot, as revealed by Marvel, involves Agatha’s journey alongside a suspicious goth teen who aids in breaking her free from a distorted spell. Together, they venture down the legendary Witches’ Road, forming a desperate coven and embarking on a dangerous quest where their alliance will be tested.

As Joe Locke steps into this enigmatic role, fans are left to wonder about the character’s connections and the potential ties to Scarlet Witch. Locke’s ability to keep these secrets close to his chest only heightens the anticipation for Agatha All Along, a series that promises to deliver the twists, turns, and thrills that Marvel fans have come to expect. With Locke’s MCU debut on the horizon, the excitement surrounding the series continues to build, making it one of the most anticipated releases in the Marvel lineup.

The first two episodes of Agatha All Along will drop on Disney Plus on September 18, 2024.
