James Gunn has teased big plans for the future of Peacemaker and Creature Commandos characters, leaving fans eager to see where they will appear next in the DC Universe (DCU). In interviews with Deadline and Entertainment Weekly, Gunn revealed that while Peacemaker Season 3 isn’t off the table, some characters might instead appear in entirely new projects. “Some of these characters will continue, but also, it’s not exactly Peacemaker 3. I’m not ruling it out. You’ll see (Episode) 8 and maybe you’ll find out a little bit more,” he said, hinting at unexpected storylines to come.
Peacemaker and Creature Commandos Characters Could Appear in Multiple Projects

James Gunn’s comments suggest these characters may spread across the DCU rather than staying confined to John Cena‘s Peacemaker. One likely destination is Waller, the series centered on Viola Davis’ Amana Waller, which has already been confirmed as a key DCU project. Several characters from the Seventh Street Kids, including Peacemaker, could appear there, while others, like Danielle Brooks’ Leota Waller and Adebayo, may join different storylines. Gunn also hinted at the possibility of appearances in the animated series Creature Commandos, particularly for characters like John Economos, Rick Flag Sr., and the corpses of Peacemaker and Vigilante seen in a future vision.
Other characters could appear separately in upcoming DCU projects. Sasha Bordeaux, played by Sol Rodriguez, might show up in Brave and the Bold given her comic book connection to Batman. Frank Grillo, who plays Rick Flag Sr., has teased involvement in an upcoming DCU project, possibly Man of Tomorrow or a storyline involving Clayface, tying back to his previous conflicts in Creature Commandos. Gunn emphasized that while a traditional Peacemaker Season 3 might not materialize, these characters are firmly planted in the DCU’s future.
G.I. Robot’s Live-Action Debut and Future in the DCU

G.I. Robot, the fan-favorite Nazi-fighting machine, is another character generating excitement. Gunn confirmed a live-action appearance is coming, though likely not in Peacemaker Season 2. “Yes, but not necessarily when you think you’re going to see him. So not necessarily in Peacemaker Season 2,” Gunn told Entertainment Weekly. The character has already established himself in Creature Commandos and may play a role in future films like Man of Tomorrow or even a revived Sgt. Rock project.
Gunn revealed that live-action discussions for G.I. Robot have been ongoing, and the technology developed for Superman could finally make the character possible on screen. Rick Flag Sr. acts as a natural anchor for G.I. Robot’s appearances, having collaborated with the character in multiple storylines. This opens the door for cameos across Supergirl, Lanterns, and other upcoming DCU projects, making G.I. Robot’s debut both flexible and highly anticipated.
With Peacemaker Season 2 episodes now streaming on HBO Max, the DCU continues to expand, promising interconnected stories that keep fans guessing. The groundwork laid by Gunn ensures these beloved characters, from Peacemaker and his allies to the mechanical hero G.I. Robot, will remain a vibrant part of the DC Universe for years to come.
