Zack Snyder has hit a few bumpy roads with his recent projects following his exit from DC Studios. Of course, Army of the Dead was a hit at Netflix but his glorious DC tenure which made his name shine with Snyderverse projects and Watchmen was diminished by critics for his Rebel Moon franchise. Now, the director has given much thought to his career prospects and teased a new project that will shy away from his previous projects altogether.
Zack Snyder Teased A New Movie That Is Very Different From His Style

It’s not hard to recall Zack Snyder’s distinct style and unapologetic approach to his method of storytelling. The actor has given the audience several wonderful and highly entertaining movies but with his recent Rebel Moon franchise produced by his wife, Deborah Snyder, getting bombshell reviews, Snyder is focusing on a new project. No, it’s not the highly anticipated Army of the Dead sequel.
“Right now, I mean we’re, we’re I, I’m, I’m developing, you know, weirdly, I just we’re trying to do like a small movie right now,” Snyder told ReelBlend Podcast. However, the director refused to add any details to the narrative he is currently developing. “I’m not going to say what it is but like, I wanted to I just was like can, I just do a movie without any visual effects in it,” he added teasing the different cinematic style of his movie.
“Um, for like five minutes and then then we get back to the insanity but I just kind of so that’s that’s what we’re trying to do right now I just want to do I’m supposed to be writing this little movie and and and and that’s kind of what I want to do.”
The Man of Steel director went on to add, “There’s a few things a couple original ideas a couple of IPs you know there’s a few things that we that we have that are very real uh that we’re just trying to lock in.”
Although it is unclear what Snyder is cooking right now, the new project could be a critical hit that the director needs right now.
Zack Snyder Reacted To Russo Brothers’ MCU Return

Snyder has been great friends with Joe and Anthony Russo and he is happy for returning to do two of the biggest Marvel gigs. The news of the Russo Brothers and Robert Downey Jr’s return to the MCU shocked the world but Marvel Studios pulled off something big, acknowledging that, Snyder said that their return would do good to the superhero brand.
“I think that’s great for them,” he told ReelBlend “They’re amazing, and they’ve done really… I think they’ve done great work with those guys. I’m sure they’ll do something amazing. They’re talented guys, and I think they’ll do something cool. I think it’s time to shake it up a little bit,” the director added.

As for Snyder, his Rebel Moon movies— Rebel Moon – Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness— director’s cut are set to debut on Netflix on August 2.
Also, the director has created an animated series, Twilight of the Gods for Netflix based on Norse mythology.
Twilight of the Gods premieres on Netflix on September 19, 2024.
