Vaughn is all set to appear in the Apple TV+ show Bad Monkey where the actor will play a former detective who is demoted to restaurant inspector in the Florida Keys. He eventually finds an interesting case that could get him back to his heydays in the department but he must confront several bumps on the road and a bad monkey.

Developed by Bill Lawrence who has several hit shows to his credit including Scrubs and Ted Lasso, the new Apple TV series is based on Carl Hiaasen’s book of the same name. “I really like the book by Carl, it’s such a fun world,” Vaughn told HeyUGuys in a recent chat.

“I was ready for something like this. That was detective, you know with people, you know? Flawed people. Kind of all interacting with each other. And what I liked about it was that the stakes are real. You know? There’s consequences but the personalities were so unique and fun in the backdrop of Florida with being both Miami and the keys are so unique that it felt like, you know, you are diving into such a specific tone and world.”

The upcoming show has already generated much hype primarily because of Lawrence collaborating with his long-time pal Vaughn. The series also stars Michelle Monaghan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Meredith Hagner, Rob Delaney, Natalie Martinez, L. Scott Caldwell, Ronald Peet, and John Ortiz.

Bad Monkey will hit Apple TV+ on August 14, 2024.
