Taylor Swift, the American pop-star has become the first and only musician to have earned more than $1 billion from her songs and performances alone. As per the 2024 world’s billionaire’s list issued by Forbes, it is estimated that she has a $1.1 billion fortune. All thanks to Eras tour!

There are some other big names from the industry including Rihanna, and Jay-Z. But their net worth is not solely from music. It came via entertainment holdings, fashion brands and alcohol companies, among other ventures.

The world has 2,781 people with fortunes exceeding $1 billion at present which is an increase of 141 in 2023, according to Forbes’ annual ranking of the world’s richest people.

LVMH French luxury goods titan Bernard Arnault and his family topped the list with an estimated $233bn, followed by Musk, the owner of Tesla and X, formerly Twitter who has seen some drop in his net worth and currently has an estimated net worth of $195bn.

It’s been an amazing year for the world’s richest people, with more billionaires around the world than ever before,” said Chase Peterson-Withorn, Forbes’ wealth editor. “A record-breaking 14 centibillionaires [$100bn] have 12-figure fortunes. Star Wars creator George Lucas topped the celebrity billionaire list with an astounding net worth of $5.5 billion.

The 34-old country-turned-pop singer who made history at the 2024 Grammy Award by winning her fourth Album of the Year, most by any saw a surge in her net worth following Eras Tour. Swift will be releasing her 11th studio record, The Tortured Poets Department, on 19 April.

2023 was definitely Taylor Swift’s biggest year. The year saw the star’s bank account surge rapidly. And the main reason was her Eras Tour.

According to The Washington Post, Swift took home about 85% of all revenue generated by The Eras Tour. Her net worth when the tour started last year was around $570 million which is currently approximated at $1.1 billion.

Having enjoyed sold-out shows across the United States, South America, Mexico, Australia and Asia, she will be back this year as well.

“We got to play 6 shows in Singapore for the most wonderful crowds — just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who traveled and put so much effort into being at our shows,” Swift wrote via X, on Monday, March 10. “What an unforgettable way to end this leg of the tour!! See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour!! In the meantime, I’ve got an album to release.”

The Eras Tour will continue on to Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, Paris, Stockholm, Lisbon, Madrid, Lyon, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Zürich, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Munich, Warsaw, Vienna and London.

And, just like last year, Swift will see a hike in her bank account. Pollstar projects the Eras Tour will once again reach $1 billion within their eligibility window, meaning Swift is likely to bring in over $2 billion over the span of the tour.

Meanwhile, Swift’s The Eras Tour concert movie is the highest-grossing concert film of all-time, earning $261.6 million worldwide.
