Kevin Bacon; one of the most prolific actors in the industry, recently appeared in MaXXXine collaborating with the movie’s lead Mia Goth, and director Ti West. In the press junket of the movie, the biggest preparation of the West’s slasher trilogy starring Goth, Bacon revealed that he once had done a little experiment but the results were not per his liking.

Some celebrities would do things that would be unimaginable for many fans. Of course, many actors have been spotted in public in weird ways possible to prepare for their roles but Kevin Bacon who played villainous Captain Grant in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F recently appeared for a chat with Vanity Fair and revealed that he once had done an experiment and ended up hating the result.
Bacon, went out in public, not being a celebrity but in disguise to have an experience of what common people feel in their regular lives. “Nobody recognized me,” Bacon told VF of his camouflage in the shopping mall called The Grove in Los Angeles. “People were kind of pushing past me, not being nice,” the MaXXXine actor shared his experience.
“Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to wait in line to,” he continued adding, “I don’t know, buy a fucking coffee or whatever. I was like, This sucks. I want to go back to being famous.”
Never in his stellar career, Bacon felt this sort of response in public. The actor has always been adored for his prowess and craft. Regardless, this was one of the instances he would never forget.

While reflecting on his character in MaXXXine, Bacon revealed that director Ti West has been very supportive. He is the “type of person and director who is confident enough to be comfortable collaborating, so we started banging around some ideas,” he said of the director during his chat with VF.
West, as shared by the 65-year-old, wanted him to go as far as possible, “and I like taking big swings,” Bacon said. West told the actor, “in no uncertain terms, ‘If we go too far, I’m going to protect you and I’ll be able to pull it back. If we go too far with the look, if we go too far with the dialect, or even with the performance. . .’” And it was a good enough reason for Bacon to trust West.
Becoming the kind of actor, Bacon added, “who has an opportunity to take big swings was a very difficult thing to attain in this industry, because Hollywood wants you to do the same thing that you did last time [a project of yours] made money.”
Fortunately for Bacon, he has been doing roles to his liking and MaXXXine would be one of the highlighting examples of it.
