Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn is all set to play Johnny Storm aka Human Torch in Marvel’s upcoming The Fantastic Four, and he is very much excited for the role. The role was previously played by Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan in the previous live-action Fantastic Four attempts.

When Joseph Quinn was picked for the role of the Human Torch, many fans raised eyebrows doubting his talent and thinking if he would be able to do justice to the role which was earlier portrayed by some famous Marvel alums.
But he is ready to fill the shoes. During his panel at the Facts Comic-Con in Belgium, when asked about his career’s biggest role, he said:
“I’m really excited! I still can’t believe it, it’s crazy. We have a great group. When I spoke to Matt, the director, he had a brilliant vision for this, and the group we have, it was an easy decision. I definitely wanted to be a part of it.” (via F4Update)
On being asked how’s his preparation going, he joked that he’ll be “setting himself on fire every day.”
Quinn’s role in Stranger Things season 4 as the lovable Eddie Munson, instantly became a fan favorite. Quinn added that director Matt Shakman has a great vision for the project. And, earlier, Shakman hinted that this will be different in so many ways than its predecessors.

The upcoming Marvel movie will be the third movie adaptation of the Fantastic Four comic, following the 2005 film starring Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis and the 2015 film starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell.
Marvel revealed in February 2024 via social media post that “Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are The Fantastic Four.” Pedro Pascal will lead the cast as Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic.

Till now Marvel hasn’t revealed the official plot for the film, but earlier, Kevin Feige himself stated that the MCU’s Fantastic Four won’t be an origin story.
“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?” Feige said during San Diego Com-Con in 2022. (Via PEOPLE)
Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer were brought in to write the story in September 2022, but in March 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Josh Friedman would be reworking the script.
Per Variety, filming for the new movie is expected to begin by summer 2024. There will be many twists and turns and rumors regarding the movie. but we will have to wait till the official plot details arrive from the studio.
The Fantastic Four will be released on July 25, 2025.
