Kristen Bell’s first-ever Emmy nomination came with a show of support that was both bold and hilariously unconventional. The 44-year-old actress earned a nod for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Nobody Wants This, and husband Dax Shepard made sure the moment didn’t go unnoticed by sharing a risqué and playful tribute on Instagram that had Hollywood talking.
Dax Shepard Gives A Barefaced Tribute to Talent and Humor

On July 15, just hours after Bell’s name landed among 2025’s Emmy nominees, Shepard celebrated the moment by posting a nude photo of Bell performing a handstand in their backyard, donning only a pair of bright blue knee-high socks. “People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy-nominated performance like Kristen’s,” Shepard wrote. “This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”

The photo, modestly censored with a red box, was both a show of admiration and a classic Dax move—sincere love with a splash of humor. The response from fans and celebrities was instant. Nina Dobrev chimed in with, “Hahahaha yesssss go girl ! 🍑 suns out buns out for that Emmy!!!” while Gwyneth Paltrow simply added, “Oh my God, Dax.” Even Mae Whitman couldn’t resist praising Bell’s “incredible form.”
The Emmy nod isn’t just a milestone for Bell, who stars as Joanne opposite Adam Brody’s Noah, but also for the team behind Nobody Wants This. Creator Erin Foster and lead actor Adam Brody also received nominations, further cementing the series’ rising status ahead of its October 23 season two premiere. Bell herself shared her excitement on Instagram with behind-the-scenes Zoom screenshots of her and Foster reacting to the nomination news, captioned, “finding out I was nominated for an Emmy – finding out @erinfoster was nominated for an Emmy!!!!”
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Keep It Real After 11 Years of Marriage

Shepard’s unfiltered support isn’t out of character. During a March episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, he openly discussed how nudity isn’t a big deal in their household. “My policy is that’ll decide that, because in Europe, they don’t give a f***,” he said about being naked around their children, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 10. But he also acknowledged that things shift as kids grow older.
That trust carries over into their professional lives, too. Bell, when asked about filming love scenes, assured fans of their mutual understanding. “Even if Dax hooks up with the most beautiful person in the world at work, I know he’s committed to our family,” she told E! News. About working with Brody, she joked, “There is not chemistry… We’re like an old granny and grampy.”
From a 2007 dinner party to an 11-year marriage rooted in humor, trust, and mutual admiration, Bell and Shepard’s journey remains refreshingly real in a world of scripted love stories. And with this Emmy nomination, it’s clear Kristen Bell’s talents are finally getting the mainstream recognition they’ve long deserved, with her biggest fan cheering the loudest.
