The life of an actor is not always shining or filled with cheerful confetti. Anne Hathaway has endured the worst phase of her life and the actor is now quite candid about it. Thankfully, Christopher Nolan came to her rescue clearing the obstacles on her way.

Anne Hathaway was once the victim of the harshest criticism one can have without much of any valid reason. She was a rising star and an Oscar winner, yet the severe online comments on her have almost pushed her career to the edge of destruction. Christopher Nolan, who has an accomplished track record of being one of the best directors in the industry came to the aid of her. Hathaway revealed that Nolan was the antidote to “Hathahaters,” a term popularized by the media to reflect her haters. “A lot of people wouldn’t give me roles,” Hathaway told Vanity Fair.
“Because they were so concerned about how toxic my identity had become online. I had an angel in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of the best films that I’ve been a part of.”
Nolan cast Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises as Selina Kyle. Later, in Interstellar, she even had a larger role. “I don’t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had that effect,” she said adding, “And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.” Fortunately, the actor bounced back and her prowess is well reflected in her works.

The 41-year-old became the easy target of haters following her Oscar hosting with actor James Franco. While the night has made her name prominent in the world, it was not without a great cost. The actor was humiliated for her performance as a host as a hyper-enthusiast. Hathaway reflected on the pain of severe public backlash. “Humiliation is such a rough thing to go through,” she told Vanity Fair.
“The key is to not let it close you down. You have to stay bold, and it can be hard because you’re like, ‘If I stay safe, if I hug the middle, if I don’t draw too much attention to myself, it won’t hurt.’ But if you want to do that, don’t be an actor. You’re a tightrope walker. You’re a daredevil. You’re asking people to invest their time and their money and their attention and their care into you. So you have to give them something worth all of those things. And if it’s not costing you anything, what are you really offering?”
Hathaway’s prominence continued. The actor is now one of the busiest and most sought-after stars in Hollywood. Hathaway recently appeared in Michael Showalter’s romance comedy, The Idea of You. The movie was received well by critics as it debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% score.
