The actor further revealed that he is now doing better. “First of all, I want you to know I’m doing great!” he said in the podcast. “I had my surgery on Monday, and by Friday, I was already at a big environmental event with my friend and fellow fitness crusader Jane Fonda,” he continued.

“Nobody would ever have thought I started the week with a surgery. I want to thank my whole team at the Cleveland Clinic. All of the doctors and nurses took amazing care of me and made the surgery as painless as possible,” Schwarzenegger added.

The actor has endured three surgeries as he was plagued by a genetic arrhythmia— a heart condition where the heart beats too slow or fast.

“I had my valves replaced for the first time in 1997, which required open heart surgery. They told me both valves would last 12 to 15 years,” he recalled.

Speaking of his heart condition, the actor revealed that has a congenital heart defect or bicuspid aortic valve— normally a heart has three valves but a person with this condition only has two. In 2018 the actor replaced the valves but a major problem occurred in the surgery propelled an open heart surgery.

“My mother and her mother’s bicuspid valves killed them. I’m still here because of medical innovation and being very diligent about staying in touch with my doctors and listening to them. My mother refused to have the valve replacement surgery.”

While Schwarzenegger is known for his physique, he has been suffering from his heart condition but that has never let the actor rest and he assured that he will come back soon and strong.
