Hollywood action legend Arnold Schwarzenegger has recently revealed that the actor recently had surgery for a pacemaker (a device that helps regulate the heartbeat of patients with severe heart conditions). Following the surgery, fans have showered good wishes for a speedy recovery for the actor while many wondered if he would be able to shoot season 2 of his Netflix action series FUBAR. The actor responded with a positive approach.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s heart condition has troubled the actor for a long time, it goes back to the 1990s when he had the first of a series of heart surgeries. The actor has endured his heart condition for this long. Recently, Schwarzenegger revealed that he is recovering from a pacemaker surgery. “I had surgery for a pacemaker and became a little bit more of a machine,” Schwarzenegger said in the recent episode of Arnold’s Pump Club podcast.

The 76-year-old who has been an influencer and known for his health consciousness further discussed the condition urging his fans to rise above the stigma surrounding it.

“I know a lot of you are probably dealing with your own health challenges, and I want you to know that you aren’t alone. If you’re putting something off out of fear, I hope I inspire you to listen to your doctors and take care of yourself,” he added.

Thankfully, Schwarzenegger is out of danger now and might be back in action pretty soon.

Following Schwarzenegger’s update on his health condition, fans have showered good wishes and prayers on The Terminator star. Some have asked about his return to the scene wondering if FUBAR season 2 will be delayed due to his medical condition. Schwarzenegger took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to fans query.

“Thank you! I’ve gotten so many kind messages from all over the world, but a lot of people have asked if my pacemaker will cause any problems with FUBAR Season 2. Absolutely not. I will be ready to film in April, and you can only see it if you’re really looking for it,” the Commando star wrote on X.

Fans responded to the action mega star’s recent update.

It seems the actor is all good to continue his action with FUBAR season 2 which is expected to hit the streamer on November 2024 or early 2025.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Doing Better

The actor further revealed that he is now doing better. “First of all, I want you to know I’m doing great!” he said in the podcast. “I had my surgery on Monday, and by Friday, I was already at a big environmental event with my friend and fellow fitness crusader Jane Fonda,” he continued.

“Nobody would ever have thought I started the week with a surgery. I want to thank my whole team at the Cleveland Clinic. All of the doctors and nurses took amazing care of me and made the surgery as painless as possible,” Schwarzenegger added.

The actor has endured three surgeries as he was plagued by a genetic arrhythmia— a heart condition where the heart beats too slow or fast.

“I had my valves replaced for the first time in 1997, which required open heart surgery. They told me both valves would last 12 to 15 years,” he recalled.

Speaking of his heart condition, the actor revealed that has a congenital heart defect or bicuspid aortic valve— normally a heart has three valves but a person with this condition only has two. In 2018 the actor replaced the valves but a major problem occurred in the surgery propelled an open heart surgery.

The Condition Runs In The Family

Schwarzenegger’s mother had a similar condition that killed her as he refused to have the valve replaced. Thanks to the advancement of modern medical science, Schwarzenegger can stand by his life filled with action. But recalling his mother, the actor said:

“My mother and her mother’s bicuspid valves killed them. I’m still here because of medical innovation and being very diligent about staying in touch with my doctors and listening to them. My mother refused to have the valve replacement surgery.”

While Schwarzenegger is known for his physique, he has been suffering from his heart condition but that has never let the actor rest and he assured that he will come back soon and strong.
