Lionsgate has dropped the The Crow trailer starring Bill Skarsgard. While the trailer has received positive responses from fans, several fans are not ready to see another actor in place of the original The Crow star Brandon Lee from the 1994 movie. Based on James O’Barr’s supernatural superhero comic book series, both movies have followed the same essence of the story, yet both were crafted with different approaches for different audiences. Now, Skarsgard’s movie reminded fans of Lee as they have poured their heartfelt tribute to the actor.
Brandon Lee’s The Crow Became A Cult Classic
Brandon Lee’s 1994 fantasy action was the pure celebration of goth and the impact of the movie spanned generations of goth fans. Lee’s portrayal of Eric Draven— who resurrected from his death on his anniversary seeking vengeance for the murder of his fiancé— was astonishing as there was rage and calmness in his eyes and the set of the movie was filled with engrossing gothic atmosphere.
The Crow is scary at times yet the thrill and suspense embroiled with raw emotions in a nightscape making the narrative closer to the essence of what we feel. It was like reading a poem by the great American gothic poet Edgar Allan Poe or a novel by Mary Shelley. But beyond all the gothic elements, Brandon Lee was the soul that gave the movie a life even in the shadows. Like Draven’s resurrection, The Crow relived among fans.
In an unfortunate event, Lee left the world while shooting the final scene of the movie. Son of legendary Bruce Lee, the actor was performing his death scene for the movie. He was supposed to film the scene with a prop gun but the bullet in the gun was real which killed him on set.
Fans Are Pouring Tributes To Brandon Lee
Lee’s death was tragic and his die-hard fans will always remember the actor. Also, The Crow has meticulously established his prowess as an actor. While Lionsgate has long been trying to bring The Crow remake to the screen, the studio has finally starred It actor Bill Skarsgard as Eric Draven and several fans are remembering the original hero of the movie.
