WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella is no stranger to the physical demands of wrestling. But during a recent match on Monday Night Raw, the former Divas Champion suffered a bizarre and painful injury that pushed one of her breast implants all the way down into her rib cage. Despite the shock and discomfort, Bella took it all in stride, joking through the pain and proving, once again, her resilience inside and outside the ring.
A painful hit and an unexpected aftermath for Nikki Bella

During the July 28 episode of Monday Night Raw, Nikki Bella participated in an eight-woman tag team match. Things took a turn when fellow WWE Superstar Piper Niven delivered a heavy elbow drop to Bella’s chest. That moment, according to Nikki, shifted her implant completely out of place.
“Piper’s elbow drop? Yeah, put the implants right into the ribs,” Bella said on The Nikki & Brie Show, her SiriusXM podcast co-hosted with her twin sister Brie Bella. “It’s been hard to laugh and cough, but it’s okay, we’re gonna get it fixed one day.”
Brie chimed in, joking, “I think it’s stuck in your ribs.”
Nikki confirmed, laughing through the discomfort, “My implant, I think, has moved, and I’m like, ‘Alright. It has. It has moved.’”
Despite being in visible pain, Bella powered through the match and even celebrated victory with her team, which included Iyo Sky, Stephanie Vaquer, and Rhea Ripley. Fans watching closely may have noticed something off, but Bella didn’t let it interrupt the show. That unwavering spirit reflects why she’s remained one of the most beloved figures in women’s wrestling.
A Lighthearted Take on a Serious Injury

While the injury is serious enough to require medical attention, Nikki is approaching the situation with humor and honesty. She revealed that she visited a doctor shortly after the match to assess the damage. The visit itself, she said, was nothing short of surreal.
“I was just telling Brie, like, having conversations with my shirt off, and I’m thinking in my head, like, ‘I didn’t think I’d be here today, on my day off in New York City, getting my boobs looked at,’” she recalled.
The implant, she explained, has shifted enough to affect her daily routine. Laughing, coughing, and other simple movements are now painful. But surgery? That’s on hold.
“We’re going to get it fixed, one day,” Bella said. “I told the doctor, I go, ‘Newly divorced, so the minute the boots are hung up, I’m coming back to you, and we’re going to make these girls look real good.’”

In true Nikki fashion, she capped it off with a cheeky quip: “By the way, you guys, not that bad of a difference. They still look hot.”
This injury comes just months after Nikki returned to WWE action for the first time in years, following her retirement in 2019 due to a brain cyst. In fact, 2025 marked her first real in-ring run since 2018, and she’s been soaking up every bit of the comeback. Even with the discomfort, she’s not backing away from the spotlight, suggesting she still has more left to give inside the squared circle.
As for her personal life, Nikki recently finalized her divorce from former Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev. Speaking about her new chapter, she credits her 4-year-old son Matteo for anchoring her emotionally. “At his age right now, I get so much love that I realized this is all the love I need and want right now,” she shared.
Injuries may come with the territory, but Nikki Bella continues to prove that she’s built differently, on every level.
