In an Instagram Story, she made clear that she thinks Harris is a good leader, writing, “the vice president fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.” Swift says Harris is a calm, gifted leader who would steady the country-which is in chaos under other leadership, she suggests.
Swift then encouraged her followers to be informed of the issues that mattered, to research deeply into the candidates and their policies. As she said, “As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.” She added that to understand what each of these candidates is proposing is important in making informed decisions.

Another personal issue that the singer gave space to was related to the misuse of her image via AI. She spoke of how an AI video came out supposedly endorsing Donald Trump; she took to voicing apprehension over the dissemination of fake news. This leading to fear in her, she implored people to seek the truth and said sharing facts, being transparent is the best way to debunk misinformation.
Swift even boldly declared, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.” Swift praised Walz, who has shown unwavering support for LGBTQ+ rights, women’s reproductive freedom, and other major social issues. She said she admired Harris and Walz as steady leaders and supporters of causes that are close to her heart. “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” she said. She urged her followers to do the same, with special encouragement for those voting for the first time to get registered early and to take advantage of early voting.
Swift concluded her message on a very humble note, signing off with “With love and hope, Taylor Swift… Childless Cat Lady.” This timing of the endorsement came directly after the debate, really hitting home the meaning of such words to the election process.
Elon Musk Reacts After Taylor Swift Picks Kamala Harris
Elon Musk, a billionaire industrialist and businessman behind companies like Tesla and SpaceX, was quick to attack Taylor Swift after she came out to support Kamala Harris in the American elections. Swift’s support for Vice President Harris found applause from some quarters but criticism from others, but Musk’s seemingly pointed remarks stood out.
Musk is not known to mince words and usually has both outrageous and bold statements, but the singer seemed to have gotten a bit more sarcastic when she referred to herself as “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady” in her endorsement post. Musk responded, “Fine Taylor… you win… I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” in subtle mockery of the phrase Swift used.

Still, the exchange was not all negative. When Swift’s album, The Tortured Poets Department, reached commercial success, Musk seized the opportunity to dole out a little rare praise. He tweeted appreciation for Swift’s success: “I’m not quite the target audience, but nonetheless very impressive indeed.” That he could respect her achievement as an artist was a nod to her talent after his previous barbs at her.
Meanwhile, the political repercussions of Swift’s endorsement found an equally fierce response in the Trump campaign: whereas Swift’s endorsement called attention to her standing in the political landscape for Harris’s nomination, Trump’s camp dismissed her as a force.
