Rhea Ripley’s meteoric rise in WWE is incredible but the superstar who is also known as Mommy, has surfaced multiple times as a subject of discussion, While most of her backstage spottings are funny, the superstar has also been in controversies. Earlier this year, Ripley delivered a stinkface move to her opponent Nia Jax in a WWE live event match which invited some unwanted criticism for the move. Now, Ripley has shut down the criticism in a recent interview.

Rhea Ripley is certainly one of the highest-paid and most acclaimed superstars in WWE who bears astonishing gothic charisma. Also, the wrestler often made headlines for different reasons but the controversy surrounding her stinkface to Nia Jax was intense. However, Ripley stood by the decision and refused to apologize but rather silenced her critics during her chat with Ring The Belle.
“Shut up…shut up,” Ripley said. “Honestly like it’s real funny because I get criticism for every single little thing I do, but, you see the men doing this and you’re like ‘yeah! that looks cool! amazing’. Tiffany Stratton does this the other week and they’re like ‘oh my god I love you Tiffany, oh, my, god, you’re so sexy please do that to me’, but when I do it there’s a problem? Why? You just mad that I’m popular that’s why,” she added.
It was a tribute to the iconic WWE superstar Rikishi who perfected the move. Stinkface was highly popular in the company and many famous superstars have been on the receiving end of the move which for many fans may look disgusting.

Ripley shared the backstory behind the move, initially, she was not sure if she would really deliver the signature move of the legend which is inherently extremely popular. She was very self-conscious about it as the move can not go wrong although it appears to be very simple.
“A lot of things were going through my head I was like am I going to do it no I’m not going to do it am I going to do it no I’m not going to do it you know what I’m going to do it and then while I was doing it I was like I’m so self-conscious,” she said during the interview.
As for Jax is concerned, Ripley revealed that “she secretly loved it, she looks mad but she loved it she loved every single second of it.”
Ripley is now in extreme feud with her former Judgement Day partners excluding Damien Priest, of course. Her rivalry with the new version of Judgement Day which included Liv Morgan is among the top WWE stories of recent times. Ripley is now partnered with Priest under a new name of the two-person band of babyfaces which goes as Terror Twins. Amid the rivalry, a new romantic angle of Ripley with Jey Uso.
