“But to be there be with Dave who I grew up with, um, you know, in WWE he was already a star main eventor when I arrived in 2007. I was a kid that knew nothing and he helped guide me on my journey when I first arrived, not just navigating WWE but also navigating life cuz I was absolutely clueless. I was just picked up from Scotland at college and dropped down and he was there you know as a friend and mentor.”
Bautista kept McIntyre in mind for his latest action thriller. “It’s interesting to fast forward so many years,” The Scottish Warrior said. “The success he’s had entertainment world in Hollywood and now he’s doing the exact same thing. He’s helping guide me along mentoring me once again,” he continued.
Further, the WWE superstar shared his experience working in the movie saying that it was “just, yeah, unreal.” He added how WWE prepared him over the years to be fit for the role, “it’s crazy what WWE prepares you for it really prepares you for it feels like anything.” But in life “specifically this world I was so nervous Dave cut my nerves and that red light went on I just relaxed again.”
Drew McIntyre Played Scott Adkins’ On Screen Brother In The Killer’s Game
British actor and martial artist Scott Adkins played Angus Mackenzie and McIntyre played the role of his brother, Rory Mackenzie. Filming alongside Adkins, as McIntyre explained was great as he stood there on set as his real brother. The WWE star also praised his athletic nature who could perform extreme action scenes with ease. “I wish I could do half the stuff Scott could do and I would incorporate them into some of my matches,” McIntyre joked. “But yeah, he’s capable of kicks and Strikes and things I don’t even have the name for, um, he’s just such an unbelievable athlete.”

“Such a great guy and he’s somebody that pretty much played you know my brother for real on the set. Obviously, I had Dave there but Scott was there at all times with me and was able to kind of guide me along if I needed some advice I wasn’t sure about something, Scott was the one I would ask, you know, constantly like hey, ‘is this okay?’ or he would come to me go, ‘hey do this, try this and you know reinforce, ‘hey you’re doing good’ or whatever, ‘are you sure? are you double sure?’”
McIntyre added that Adkins would “keep motivating” him. At the onset of his very first take, McIntyre recalls, “When they say cut and I don’t get that real-time feedback of cheers and boo knowing I did well and they say moving on.” He was clueless about it as he initially thought did badly in the very first scene and no one bothered to ask for a retake. “I’m like, ‘Oh everyone was silent was I terrible!’ and he had to remind me you know, no that’s what happens here if they say moving on that’s like your cheers… that means you did a good job even though it’s complete silence.”
The Killer’s Game also stars Sofia Boutella, Terry Crews, Pom Klementieff, and Ben Kingsley and is scheduled for September 13, 2024 release.
