Fast and Furious franchise regular Tyrese Gibson, known for his role as Roman Pearce, leads 1992 as Mercer. Liotta completed filming his scenes before his passing, and the movie will showcase the actor in full-throttle action and gun-blazing sequences.
According to the official synopsis, Gibson’s character Mercer “endeavors to restore his life and relationship with his son during the unrest following the 1992 Rodney King verdict. Meanwhile, in another part of town, a father and son confront their troubled relationship by planning a perilous heist at Mercer’s workplace. As tensions in Los Angeles escalate and chaos ensues, the two families cross paths.”
1992 will be Liotta’s final film, allowing fans to celebrate his legacy in this action-packed thriller from the director of The Angel and The Iceman.

Popular rapper Snoop Dogg also reunited with Gibson in 1992. Reflecting on the movie’s setting, Snoop Dogg stated, “1992 was a life-changing time for me, from Deep Cover to The Chronic.
But as things “in my life were coming together, everything in L.A. was coming apart. 1992 is a heist movie that really captures all of that. This movie is about an L.A. moment. Ariel made an outstanding film that depicts this moment in time. From my first encounter with Tyrese in Baby Boy to the performance in 1992, I had to be a part of this. And it’s only fitting that the film come out under Death Row Pictures, as Death Row is synonymous with L.A. culture in the ’90s, ya dig?”
The trailer for the movie has been released, providing a brand new look at Gibson’s character. The cast also includes Scott Eastwood as Riggin Bigby, Michael Beasley as Joseph, Christopher Ammanuel as Antoine King, Dylan Arnold as Dennis, Ori Pfeffer as Murphy, and Oleg Taktarov as Titus.
